Ann is very sweet, welcoming, and is happy to accommodate last minute appointments. While you know exactly what to expect with products you purchase online or in-store, it’s not really the same with hair stylists. Low rated reviews aren’t necessarily negative and instead depict how well the customer enjoyed/agreed with the stylist. You research reviews in order to maximize your experience by understanding similar people’s experiences. The overall rating represents how well the stylist fits with the general population. Although I really enjoyed speaking with Ann and appreciate how sweet she was, I didn’t really agree with her styling and this needs to be reflected in the overall rating.
Pros:
- very relaxing hair washing. she took her time, made multiple runs, and even used conditioner! this isn’t too common.
- seems very meticulous with what she’s doing
- very sweet lady and very patient with small talk even though her english isn’t the best
Cons:
- gets hair _everywhere_. She doesn’t bother to brush off some hair between runs and had piles of hair all over my face. By the time she took off the cover to get my hair washed, all the hair fell in my shirt and so much hair accumulated on my nose and eyes that i couldn’t open my eyes. Then she asked me to walk over to get my hair washed. Usually a stylist would at least use a hair dryer, soft brush, or soft dry sponge to wipe the hair off my face… but I had to explicitly ask for a towel.
- her scissors were dull and constantly tugged on my hair. I’m pretty sure this damaged/frizzed some of my hair which contributed to the “fuzzball” look.
My husband gets his hair cut with Ann and always comes out looking amazing. He pays $65 for a men's cut with a tip so it isn't too unreasonable especially considering it's Mountain View. They have online appointment scheduling on their website for those of us that would prefer to not talk to other people whenever possible.
This was my second year coming here for party hair and make up, and I loved the result!! I got so many compliments on my hair. Would definitely recommend if you have an event you want to look fabulous for :)
I think this is a good salon, but pricing was pretty high. I went several visits firctrim and highlights. The results were fine. But the Silucon Valley vibes are everywhere, even in this little salon. I will be going out of town for services from here on out. 300.00 is too much for me.

She never disappoints, keeps it real, very outgoing, and gets the job done in such a great efficient manner. Bonnie is definitely blessed with some magical hands and do not hesitate to see wonders she can do. Looking forward to see my next session!
Bonnie knows what style fits you the best! She was the artist in my friend’s wedding and she did make up and hair for the bride and all bridesmaids and she’s great!!! I'm a happy customer. I've been getting my hair cut here by Bonnie every month or so for over two years and I've always been very happy with my hair after, even after switching styles up. She remembers the previous style to cut, or if I do change things up, it's easy to explain the new style and have it turn out just how I wanted. The pre- and post- shampoos are great, the place is clean, and everyone there is attentive and friendly. After trying a few other places around the area before Fashion Code, I was happy enough with how the first haircut turned out that I haven't wanted to go anywhere else since.
