Came here for some delicious trendy eats and unfortunately they had stopped making the pudding dogs we wanted to try. Their other desserts and food were still super delicious with the desserts not being overly sweet.
Birria Tacos were delicious with a kick.
Pad Thai was so yummy.
We watched a steady flow of customers come and go. Best tip I can give about this place is to Order Ahead. Food is made to order so it takes a bit of time. If you're on lunch nearby or in a rush definitely call ahead.
They also validate parking if you are lucky to find a spot in the parking lot.
Take out place that will soon be a restaurant. They're awaiting furniture to open its doors. During the interim, they have a take out window upstairs by the elevators.
This is one of my favorite stops to get a birria taco ????. The cheese and crunch is the perfect combo with onions and cilantro and a lime.
I also love the smores Aloha puffy. It's the perfect craving of chocolate ???? and roasted marshmallow.
Great drinks, lots of flavor and as a Latino who loves Hawaii, true to our roots. The prices are very reasonable for Hawaii prices and customer service is great. The only catch is that is hidden and if you blink, you miss it. I had the original orchata flavor and that was great in itself.
The first thing I will start by saying is THEY NO LONGER HAVE THE ROUND FILLED DONUTS
This was actually the primary reason I wanted to try this place but I overheard the cashier tell the customer in front of me that they no longer make them at all…It is still a walk up window and I know they plan on opening a sit down restaurant. I was worried about parking because it’s at restaurant row but thankfully I was able to get my ticket validated and parking was free so that’s a plus!
I ordered the Birria tacos and the chantilly aloha puffy. I think the only thing they have going for them are the desserts. The only reason I gave the rating I did is because my Birria tacos were barely filled with meat and instead had a whole lot of onions! So much that I had to dump half out because it was burning my mouth. I’d be willing to order out again but probably using a delivery service.
Overall 8.1 out of 10 definitely will return. Customer service was ok, food was pretty good overall besides one item that was kind of ok. There Birria is pretty tasty in itself and both Horchata’s were delicious. I had the Crunchwrap, tacos, and Birria bites. Tacos were the best hands down 8.4/10, but the crunch-wrap was not as good, 7.4/10. Birria bites were a 6/10. Both Horchatas were 8/10 and the banana pudding was a 8.6/10. Highly recommend!
Aloha Mamacita is consistently good, especially if eaten fresh. The quantity of food for what you pay is quite good. Everything is always super satisfying and well seasoned. My wife and I frequent this place and it's always good.
Pictured is the birria tacos and Nacho fries.
Updated 08/27:
Since moving to their new location the prices have increased, you also have to pay for parking, and they charge customers 3.5% on top of your post tax total for credit card transactions. Not only do most businesses not do this, but Square and Clover both charge 2.6% and 2.4% +10cents respectively, meaning they are charging you an additional 1% because why not?
I understand that inflation hits everyone, but this is a little egregious.
Totally worth checking out. Best birria I've had on the island and the desserts are just fantastic.
I want to throw up.
I came here in hopes of getting 2 tasty Birria crunch wraps. It was hard to find parking, and the parking that I did find was $6 dollars. I ordered the crunch wraps expecting a Birria wrap but instead there was a bunch of cheese and hardly any meat. Like a block of cheese and meat being sprinkled in it. I hope they don’t continue to do this to their customers because it says Birria, not quesadilla. I was highly disappointed, especially since it cost almost 50 bucks for two crunch wraps, they ended up being 90% cheese 5% wrap, and 5% meat. I couldn’t eat a lot of it because it was mostly cheese and I’m a cheese lover. Aside from that, the meat that was there was cooked very well, and the consume had a great taste.
Unfortunately, I have to give them one star even though there is a lot of hype around this restaurant. I do hope that they give their customers more meat in their orders in the future. If not, I can see this restaurant tanking fast.
The orchata was good. Both the pumpkin spice and regular.
