Loved the pulled pork sandwich! Very friendly service and the place is so charming. I'll make this a regular stop on my way down I-5!
I had the most incredible experience at Allyson's. We ate there on the way up to Mt Shasta and liked it so much that we simply had to stop there again on our way back home again!
The food is infused with love and the atmosphere is redolent of country charm. The food is fresh and flavorful. I had a Swiss mushroom bison burger with a side salad. It was served with gluten-free bread. I did not feel lethargic or heavy, which I normally would after a meal in the afternoon, and with only 3 hours of sleep. It was quite amazing, the sense of well-being I had! The next night my friend and I shared a gluten free pizza and a home-made minestrone soup, which hit the spot!
Cheryl is the sweetest, gentlest, friendliest person around. You somehow just know this is the real deal and keep wanting more.
Delicious food and the owner Cheryl is the nicest woman ever. The key lime pie was amazing.
Great find! We were so lucky to happen upon this quaint and cozy little restaurant. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. We hung out with the locals watching football and talking; it was so comfortable. The owner and cook, Cheryl, is amazing. Besides being a fabulous cook, she is an artist so you will enjoy her paintings decorating the walls. The food was fantastic, fresh, and inexpensive. Our experience began with a selection of microbrews served in freezer frosted mugs. We ordered a dinner for two with a fresh salad with lots of yummy ingredients and homemade Ranch dressing. Then we had a small pepperoni pizza that she cooked in her outdoor oven, followed by fettucini with a marinara and sausage sauce. We were sure to clean up every last speck with the French bread. Yummy!!! If you're in the area (on your way to Shasta), you owe it to yourself, and to Cheryl, to check this place out. Enjoy!
Delightful and delicious way to begin the new year! Our savory pizzas and bountiful salads were made by owner Cheryl. She humbly commented that she wasn't a gourmet cook. Who cares when the menu items she does offer are so flavorful and made with such care? I wish I had fared as well while eating pizza at the famous places in Chicago last month. I also wish Allyson's were a lot closer so we could revisit more often just as much for the yummy food as Cheryl's buoyant company. I preferred her lemon pie to my own recipe and bought 5 of her giant homemade cookies "for the road." Stopping here on a roadside trip was our good fortune. Next time you pass through on the 5 give yourself that opportunity too!
Stopped here late on our long trip home from Oregon with our 3 small kids. Owner stayed open late for us, treated us like family, and served up delicious food. Great stop & great hospitality!
Genuinely friendly. Large menu selection for a small place. Generous portions. Quality ingredients. Ocean & mountain decor (I sensed we were kindred spirits). Highly recommended.
Cute little place run by a really nice couple. Repeated misunderstanding of our order, to the point of being comical, but they were quick to give us a free sandwich when the first one came out with meat on it unasked for.
