Enjoyed a really wonderful night here. I’d spotted it some time ago and marked it for when I did find myself in Richmond with enough time to get a table.
Didnt disappoint. Wonderful list of Italian veined including all the favourites. Our primitivo was so soft and rich.
All the courses were tasty, show stopper obviously being the roast pork. The team were kind enough to let us have the head so we could get the pigs cheeks! What a treat.
Lovely hospitality as well. Thank you for a great night!
The food at this restaurant is amazing. It only has one sitting and there is no menu. You eat the dishes they prepare based on available ingredients that day. We had six courses including prosciutto ham and asparagus, beans, prawns and scallops, pasta and wild boar.
The food was superbly prepared and delicious. It cost £65 each plus £30 for a bottle of house red.
Quirky place. No menu. You get what you get. Simple Italian, liked it all except the pig. Good atmosphere but waiter we had was lacking. Not polite or very service orientated. We had a table of 14. £70.00 per head + drinks.
Al Boccon Di' vino in Richmond is by far the best italin restaurant in London for sure ! Such a charming ambience alomst transports you to Italy . This was my third visit and I must say they are so consistent with the food , the freshness of the produce , the flavors everything is spot on . It's a tasting menu so make sure you literally go there on a empty stomach because they serve generous portions and each course is so delicious .
The service is amazing , litrally one waiter managing the entire service doing a great job .
Simona the restaurant manager is the life of Al Boccon Di vino , she makes sure everyone is well taken care of by visiting each table number of times throughout the service pouring wine , chatting with all the guests making them feel so special effortlessly with a big smile on her face . she makes sure everyone has a fabulous experience .
This is one of the best culinary experiences I’ve had in ages! But be warned, come hungry! It’s an absolute feast! Started with antipasti (prosciutto fig rocket salad, grilled vegetables, heavenly artichokes drowned in garlic olive oil and bread to soak it up!) then prawns in an incredible tomato sauce with a kick of spice! Scallops so fresh and baked in their shells, more garlic and olive oil simple and delicious. Then, the best ravioli I’ve ever had filled with light creamy asparagus, tossed in cream and fresh parmesan. We actually thought that was it… and then… the pig is brought out! With baby potatoes and a sweet mustard sauce, soft and succulent, crispy and perfectly cooked. The dessert was a perfect ending fresh strawberries macerated, a scoop of light and creamy panna cotta - thought I’d gone to heaven!
As for drinks - there’s no wine list but the house wine is outstanding I had a cold rose and the others had a red. No wine by the glass only bottle or half bottle (go with the flow!) our server was Jonathan he was absolutely incredible and I couldn’t fault anything, we thought he’d been working there for decades but he said only a few months - an asset to this establishment, as is the host we felt so relaxed and welcome! This is definitely something I will do again and take any visitors as well. Worth every penny, come with an open mind and easy going attitude and you’ll have the best time.
What an amazing experience this was. They are not kidding when they say they are giving you an Italian wedding experience. Food kept rolling at steady pace for more than an hour, and not a single dish was bad or mediocre.
You don't order anything here, just tell them what you can't eat, but I guess it is best if you go here being able to eat everything as it is 65 pounds per head and I am weary substitutions wouldn't be as good.
This is a different restaurant - is there a menu? No. Is there a wine list? No? You get given what you’re given, maybe 6 courses, and they were all great! Do not fill up on bread would be my advice. They will amend for vegetarians and pescatarians.
Part of the charm of this place is not knowing what you’ll get!
I couldn’t give you any of the stars , neither for food or service or atmosphere simply because I was turn down after quite some time spend with other customers in the queue. It would be nice to be informed that waiting has no point whatsoever because you can’t find table for 1 person and you are mainly booking only. In answer to your “what?”
