Bought some cashews on November 19 and they were expired on November 4 which is not a long expiry date but I just want to let you know to be aware while buying stuff from here.
Stumbled onto ALBASHA for the first time last week, thinking it was just a supermarket, only to find out they make food, so we got a table in their clean, & cozy dining area…
We ordered grilled mix meats, and it was amazing. Tender & tasty Kabob, kofta was DELICIOUS, lamb chop was INCREDIBLE. Rice & salad were awesome as well. Good Presentation was very appetising(see my photos) & service was very good.
I can’t believe all these years we’ve been driving at least half an hour each way(to Springfield, or Waterbury, or New Haven) to find decent Middle Eastern food, when this GEM with better food has been minutes away all along.
I highly recommend, We will definitely return.
Came for groceries early in the day. No wait. Good selection. Place is clean. Doesn't smell. All your typical products that you would expect at a halal store are there. There's also a restaurant/seating area in the back. Had a decent variety of dates. Good variety of meats. They also have a sweets section/bakery. Service is good and attendant was friendly.
The general view is ok but I have a few comments. 1- the taste of the food was good. 2- they need to put more rice for the Lamb Haneeth and the salad too salty. 3- BaBa ghanooch was ok but it needs lemon and more tahini. 4- Cheese Arayes nothing new with it you will eat as an crispy pita bread only. 5- I asked for a water twice. 6- waiters are not around you to serve you. 7- no napkins and the eating tools bring them with their hand. 8- So slow service ????????♀️
Found out about this place doing a quick Google search as our original lunch plans fell through. The place used to be a full restaurant, now the restaurant is just a small corner of the grocery store. Keep walking to the back right. The hummus was outstanding. The chicken shawarma and kebab were ok. The rice was flavorful, but a bit oily. Ended up being almost $25/person for lunch.
The food was amazing and fresh, and even though it took a little while to come out, it allowed me to walk through the market and see everything they had to offer. The lady helping us was very polite and helped explain dishes to us and proper pronunciation. Definitely a place ill enjoy coming back to.
I had the lamb mansaf and it was amazing, not only that but the owner is incredibly kind and the store itself had so many amazing options you can’t find anywhere else. 10/10 will normally visit the store
I just love their food. One of the best place to get Mediterranean food in Manchester. Very spacious and clean restaurant. Nice and friendly staff.
