If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would. I’ve been to every sushi restaurant in town and this is by far the best. Their food is amazing and their service is always so great, the atmosphere always welcomes you, it makes you want to come back. I’ve been going here as my sushi spot for about a year now, I tell everybody about this place. They give you free miso soup too <3 I think my favorite thing about this place is the service, even the workers remember me and always greet me the same way every time.
I first heard of Ahi sushi from my daughter who her friend went out to eat there with his family and highly recommended it. I stopped by today for a quick bite. When walking into the establishment I was greeted right away with the traditional Japanese hospitality and modern clean aesthetic design. The owner’s, husband and wife, are such wonderful warm and loving people I have ever come across in a sushi restaurant. The servers were nice and attentive. The complimentary miso soup with the seaweed salad, and pickled radish was a pleasant treat while waiting for the order. The food was high quality with warm and friendly service, I gave them extra for the tip. All worthwhile and I cannot wait to bring my daughter along for next time. I can see why Ahi Sushi is the talk of the town.
Really liked the rolls here. The tellowfin jalapeño was pretty loosely rolled so it fell apart easily but still all the flavors were spot on. Fish texture was fresh and delicious. Would love to try the nigiri next time. Basic rolls are priced well, the specialty rolls are a meal themselves! My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach on this visit. Hard not to try everything though! Saw a few other plates brought out to other tables that dang near made me want to go for round 2. Service was exceptional, very friendly and bubbly. Everyone that came in was greeted warmly and everyone that left was thanked profusely. Beautiful place!
This is my new favorite restaurant! The service was attentive and pleasant. Love that we were constantly checked on. The waiters were very sweet! The atmosphere was kid friendly. We were given miso soup and ice cream at the end (huge score).
You can really taste how fresh everything is!All I can say is WOW. No wonder there are so many regulars. I appreciated the temperature of fresh rolls that came out (nice and cold). The sauces drizzled over really complement the food. The portions were generous as well! I’m already thinking of what to get when we return soon. Please don’t change. Thank you, Ahi Sushi. This is perfection and deliciousness. I am a happy camper!
My husband and I absolutely LOVE this Japanese Restaurant so much that we have told everyone we met! 10/10 for food and service! If you have never been to Japan and eat real Japanese food, THIS IS THE PLACE! We had tuna and salmon sushi. They are so huge! We both couldn’t even finish half. Chefs and server are Japanese. They are very polite and have an excellent service. She will blow your head off with the service! I have lived here 20 years, I am so happy and overwhelmed with joy with this place. We will never stop going this place whenever we visit Bakersfield. We want to try everything. I don’t care for sake here. We tried 2 different one. This place is very clean, very fast, very delicious and fresh. It makes me feel like I am in Japan. My husband has never been to Japan, but he loves Japanese food so much. He was so impressed in every ways.
If I could do more stars I would! We have eaten here multiple times and every time we are met with the most impeccable customer service and best cuts of fish in all of Bakersfield. 1000/1000 ????
We started coming here last summer and it quickly became our favorite sushi place in town. Gina and Justin are experienced restaurateurs and it shows. Their passion and genuine concern for their customers shines through. The fish is always fresh. The portion sizes are large (almost to a fault) as some rolls can be difficult to eat. Overall, I highly recommend Ahi Sushi!
This place is fantastic. The food is AMAZING and perfect for the price. The owners and staff are full of life and super understanding and wonderful. I had the Monster roll and my friends each had a lunch special with different things and EVERYTHING was delicious. I work right next to this place so I'm gonna be going super often ????
