Best KPortal Reviews
The atmosphere is friendly; the surroundings are well-kept and beautiful. Not a lot of traffic at the restaurant by the time we visited, or at least the day we went.
Service could have been better.
Some confusion about the orders, but all worked out. They did not charge us for the extra plate.
Suchi tasted good.
Tteokkbokki was not was I was used to. Rice cakes were swimming in the juice instead of a heavy paste.
Beef Bulgogi was good.
I asked for chicken bulgogi, and the lady said it was spicy. I had never had spicy bulgogi before. Probably they didn't want to cook it or didn't have it. I would appreciate that excuse better.
They picked three things out of the menu that they did not have.
The kid's menu was not available.
Bulgogi tacos were good.
Was looking for Pho while visiting Fairbanks. Google said the business was open until 8pm. DoorDash also allowed for online ordering so we put in an order at 7pm and Ubered to the restaurant by 715. When we got there a VERY unfriendly lady told us the kitchen was closed and tried to shoo us out all while sitting two others in the business. We explained we had already placed an online order just for pickup but if she didn’t want to cook it then she needed to decline the order with DoorDash for our refund. She then had a change of heart and decided to make the order, but not without slamming things around the kitchen and yelling at us that she wasn’t taking any more orders. The food was mediocre at best and would have gladly just taken the refund to avoid the atmosphere and the verbal lecture of the employee. We explained they needed to notify DoorDash and to turn off their “open” sign if they didn’t want customers. While there two other customers came and went without service and another DoorDasher was attempting to pick up an order and was turned away. We made a complaint with DoorDash for those expecting the business to honor their order, they likely won’t.
Good Southeast Asian foods. Seemed to have some Korean Flare. They use fresh vegetables, even in the egg roles, need to let the grease heat up more before cooking them, but good. Not busy at lunch on the weekdays, so stop in. Service was really nice and inside clean. Like most local places here, do not judge from the outside. Plenty of parking too.
Came here on a recommendation from a friend and I'm glad we did. The gentlemen who pretty much ran the whole front/back of the house took care of us from beginning to end. The sesame chicken wasn't overly sweet like other places and had their own unique taste while the Mongolian beef had a nice level of heat! We will be back for sure.
After 10 mins walk, we finally get here. They are so friendly to us, and the food is very very nice here. You know, in the snow, a warm house here, is amazing.
Lumain here is my favorite.
They are very accommodating and friendly here. That being said, it is extremely overpriced for the quality of food. Especially the sushi. I ordered two rolls and their lack of English resulted in my getting one of those as Sashimi instead of a roll. Ok, not a big deal if it's decent, right? Well, the albacore tuna was old, tasteless, and pasty. The roll that I did get (ninja vs samurai) was more mayonnaise than anything else. It was awful. I would come back to try other food here, but I saw their Pho is $18 a bowl for only one meat and I'm afraid I'd be just as disappointed and have to write a worse review ???? They seriously need to reexamine either their pricing or their food quality.
OVER PRICED menu and very unpleasant experience.. We came at 7:30pm, there's no one in there no reception or server so I had to ask the only person I'm seeing which is the Chef inside the kitchen if they're still serving coz on the sign says open til 9pm.. Chef said she wasn't the server so we waited.. then she came back saying only sushi we can order.. so obviously she wanted us to just order what was made and not cook anymore. As we decided to leave she then say just get sushi and she said she's very busy.. There's no one in there no customer no nothing.. Very DISAPPOINTED!!. NEVER going back..
Super friendly! Food was awesome.. our 4 and 5 yr old love sushi! They ate till we thought they were gonna burst .. the ladies brought out some extra food..fries for the little guys and the Mongolian beef was the bomb! .. definitely will be back..100 percent recommend.. lots on the menu besides sushi!
