New to the area, transmission started having some issues. I don’t know much about vehicles so I did some research found out this is a expensive repair. Called a few places and the people I spoke with had very high estimate and some was rude and some people just sounded ridiculous for the price. So I came across Affordable Automotive and Transmission and spoke to Coy. He was very knowledgeable about this issues. I explained the issues I have was having and he broke everything down and explain the process about replacing the transmission. Had my vehicle towed there and and he had it done in three days. Very quick turn around he stayed in contact with me to give me an update about other issues I would have that wasn’t major but need to be address later. He also replace motor mount for me and now my vehicle drives like new beside a few leaks. Will be returning back to him for other services. I will definitely recommend Coy at Affordable Automotive and Transmission.
I purchased a "refreshed" 4L60E from a shop in Lexington. Less than a month later it started having problems down shifting. I gave them a call and dropped it off with them under warranty for a week, and was super impressed at the time for how willing they were to help. When I got it back I immediately had the same shift problem. I was given a run around about my gauge cluster not working and a knock sensor code being the problem. My gauge cluster works and knock sensors have nothing to do with it. After giving up with them honoring their "warranty," I started searching around and found the Affordable Automotive & Transmission Specialist. They replaced the valve body and had the Tahoe shifting good and ready to roll in less than a week. A good and honest mechanic is hard to find nowadays, and these guys nailed it! Go here if you want it done right, and for a fair price! ????
My Car broke down on me in Gastonia NC. I had it Towed to a local Automotive shop in Denver NC. After being told to replace my Water Pump and Power Steering Pump would be over $1700.00. I was shocked. I called around and finally contacted Coy with Affordable Automotive and it was a blessing. Ordinally being from Caldwell County. He was willing to repair my car at half the cost. Very Professional, Honest, I was so happy. I could not have asked for anything Better. He operates a Family Business and takes pride in his work. I would recommend Affordable Automotive to anyone looking for someone who is looking for a Automotive Repair Shop. I Give Coy a 5 star. And he will always have all my business.

My car stopped running and luckily we had the number for Affordable Automotive. They diagnosed the problem , ordered the part, and had us back on the road within a day. They were very professional and reasonably priced. They even noticed and corrected another problem we had noticed at no extra charge. I would highly recomend them if you are in need of a dependable and honest mechanic!

Brother coy is one of the best transmission experts in the county that you can take to the bank, after all your money is precious and valuable besides that when he fixes your automobile you never have to return I guess you can't put a price tag on that, where I come from quality is everything and Coy certainly fits that category
I paid 2,200 for transmission rebuild and power steering pump replaced. 1 year later both are completely out. Neither works. I don't drive the truck often. It has less than 500 miles on rebuild and replacement. I called to discuss. They did not call me back or answer future calls. Terrible experience. Do not trust this place!!!
