Best KPortal Reviews
My first impressions of this shop was rather interesting, I expected an older competitor in the area. Name changed quite some times in the past but seems they stuck with Yummy Zone.
I ordered my usual dish; Salt and Pepper chicken. The batter was interesting, its like a hybrid of chip shop batter and the usual flour based batter.
I have to give them some credit for creativity given its quite crispy but some of the chicken pieces lacked consistency. Some had more batter than chicken and vice versa. Bare in mind this is not authentic.
The Chinese 5 spice was a bit weak. The salt and pepper combination was not well balanced. It was relying too much on the salt to generate the flavour. It was a little bit salty but not overkill.
The price granted the area is not awful, but for £7.10 and wasn’t even a large puts this in the expensive range. Given inflation and cost of living, I understand why its this price but I’ve had better for less this year so I can’t justify anymore that I already have.
I didn’t try their other dishes therefore I cannot comment on them.
Food was fresh, hot and tasty. Large portion for a reasonable price. We don't understand the bad reviews as our experience was absolutely fantastic. Delicious food and lucky cookies! What a great surprise! Most Chinese restaurants aren't traditional anymore. Order with confidence ???????? Unbiased honest review.
Not sure what exactly is ,,Yummy" in this place, definitely not the food!!!
Ordered from here first time today, my go to place was closed and thank god! Best sweet and sour Hong Kong style chicken I’ve ever had (no I’m not being dramatic usually the batter is soft and chicken is chewy) chicken perfect, crispy batter and sweet, sweet sauce. Perfect spring rolls, great vegetable dishes! Quick delivery and piping hot! My new go to place, thank you ???? (yes I’m passionate about my takeaway???? but thank me later????)
Also couldn’t leave my review on Deliveroo for whatever reason had to put it here
Have only ordered from here in the last 6 months or so and it's always been delivery so can't speak for the restaurant itself.
The food is great. Good portions, tasty and free prawn crackers all the time! The food has consistently arrived before the estimated time given and has always been correct.
My last order was Shredded Beef, Sweet Chilli Chicken and Chicken Chow Mein with Curry Sauce and they also delivered 2 scroll calenders ready for 2019. One of them has already been hung on the back of my kitchen door! They were in my good books before that stunt and now they are in my great books!
Amazing food. Amazing service. Not overpriced and always hot.
5 * * * * * from me!
I have ordered the soup with Dim Sum and Chicken Chow Main. The soup was oily, tasteless and the worst part were the dim sum. The chicken (I guess was chicken) was fat and chewy. I couldn't eat it. The chicken in the noodles was again too hard to chew, I think the meat was old and warmed up again and again, several times. I asked for a refund on Uber Eats and I am still waiting for an email.
Too be honest I order from Yummy Zone way too often!! The food is always very good but I tend to stick to Spare Ribs with Honey sauce or Sweet and Sour Pork Balls. I don't want to be disappointed by some unknown dish. Delivery is usually approx half an hour but my only gripe is with the driver, he nearly always brings my can drinks upside down which is annoying. Sometimes I tip him but sometimes I just don't.
First the good, the sweet and sour chicken balls are great. The rest of the food was tasteless. We ordered the seafood soup, which was OK, the king prawn rice noodles and the beef chow mein which were literally unflavoured. No real flavour to speak of. We went large on both noodle dishes for a pound extra, but the king prawn dish was lean on king prawn, I counted 5 prawns. The beef definitely had enough beef, just no real flavour. It certainly wasn't tasty. Having read good reviews for the place, we ordered delivery but when we tasted it, we thought a mistake had occurred and I called them. I offered to cycle back to the place with the food but they refused to let us go back. "You've eaten it!" the chap on the phone said. Of course I had, how else could I know how poor the two noodle dishes were?!! I wanted them to check what they had sent out but they wouldn't have it! I have had to 'recook' the stuff using ginger, garlic, soy and a bit of sesame oil. Be aware that if you are unhappy with the food they will not allow you to return it. This is just poor business practise and I will find out if I can report this somewhere. Truly awful experience not just in the eating but the dealing with the staff. Avoid or be aware you will not have any comeback if a problem occurs.
