I had an unsatisfactory experience with the bouncer at yokos, he was rude uppon arrival and was unhelpful. I'm aware of the current restrictions that the hospitality industry has to follow, however, there is no need to be rude to customers for no reason who are also complying with all restrictions. This being said, the rest of the staff were lovely and the cocktail tree is great value for money. Chill out.
The bar staff are rude and under trained, the females only serve the good looking guys and ignore the girls. Me and others waited over half an hour for some drinks, and when i politely mentioned that at least four of us standing there were waiting first, i was told that i was being “aggressive” and wouldnt be served. Ive worked in a bar and they have obviously not had the right training and dont keep watch as to who was waiting first.
Why Not is one of those magical places where time and space stops to exist, depending on the level of drunk you are. If you don’t mind sticky floors, sweaty freshers and are willing to overlook basic hygiene this is a heaven. While This statement applies to most Aber venues, Yokos is the uttermost epitome of student life
As long as it's not too crowded, this place is good for meeting new people, or to meet your friends who insist on going here. During a busy night however, the queue to enter might be long and at that point I'd rather go somewhere else.
I find it hard to believe this place is still open, the staff are often rude, including the owners. I’ve been in some dodgy nightclubs in my past, but this tops them all; in terms of the lack of cleanliness, overcrowding and perhaps some one needs to check the fire regulations.
Why Not (formerly Yoko's) - the place that everyone claims to hate, yet always ends up at at the end of a night out.
The music isn't the best, but I've always had fun when I come here with friends.
Too cheesy, but cheap and cheerful. Avoid if you have standards, self respect or taste. Good for pulling greasy Aberystwyth freshers
Better known as Yoko's is a half decent bar and is like the only place open late.
