Was the first to try one of the new smores donuts and what can I say, the best donuts we have ever eaten! I'm a regular at the Dundee Newport Bakery store, so was keen to try these donuts since they are provided by them. Loads to choose from! From lemon meringue to tablet custard (both of which I got for my parents) to chocolate oblivion. Donuts are a generous size but very light and airy. They also do two variations of cookie sandwiches, a cookie pie and 4 traybakes. Will be back to try more delicious flavours.
As one of the busiest donut connoisseurs in Scotland, I had to check out the latest addition to the Dundee donut scene.
The place is small so take away is the only option. There is a decent variety of flavors - they even have vegan donuts! Toppings look attractive. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
I tried shortcake. It was pretty good. My only critique is the price. £3.5 for a single donut is pretty steep
I had the intention of a box of four but the selection was so good we bought a box of 6. Banoffee, Creme brûlée, billionaire pretzel, pineapple yum yum, Nutella crack pie, and brown butter cinnamon pecan.
They were all excellent. The pineapple yum yum ranks among the best things I’ve ever eaten in my life.
The server was super friendly too and the place is beautifully finished. The black tiles look amazing. Well worth stopping by.
Perfect doughnuts! They look so enticingly good; they're awkward to eat, so you have to take your time; and they taste like doughnuts instead of like sugar or oil. Prices are reasonable and the staff were friendly. Total win.
Delicious donuts, with crispy outsides and a very pleasant croissant-like interior. Great flavours - but highly recommend the simple-sounding brown butter & cinnamon pecan, as it's wonderfully balanced in all aspects.
The dough of doughnuts is perfect, more yeast-style with a chewy texture as opposed to cake-like commercial doughnuts that stick behind front teeth like cheap processed bread. However, they don't make the filling I absolutely adored (brown butter and pecan), hence I have no reason to come back as I am not too keen on the other flavours. Just a plain doughnut with a dollop of good quality jam would be nice to see on display as well.
Edit: They brought back brown butter and pecan doughnuts, introduced simple cinnamon doghnuts and doghnuts with jam. These 3 are my favourites. Now the place deserve 5 stars
Bought 4 Doughnuts £2.50 each. They were hard and just awful to eat. Threw them all in the bin. Won’t be back. Expected it to be amazing due to it being masterchef winners franchise but in reality doughnuts were hard and chewy not soft like a normal doughnut.
Heard that there was a new doughnut spot in Dundee, so stopped by to check it out. Walked out with a box of four delicious looking treats. Even after just the first one, which was as delicious tasting as it looked, I will clearly return to have more.
