Absolutely gutted! Wing wah was always our favourite place but the prices have been going up whilst quality is going down. Never paid much mind as it was still good, edible food and we liked helping a local business but after tonight, we won’t be going back again.
The soup was congealed, the batter on the salt and pepper chicken was uncooked on the inside, the sweet and sour sauce was like vinegar and the prawn toast had zero filling and was fried beyond recognition. Oh, and the chicken on the chicken skewers was squidgy - no other way to describe it! The only saving grace was the half duck, which was tasty.
Service would have always been a 5* however, after ringing them up today (after dropping £50!) to explain that most of the food is inedible, I was just told “that’s just how we make it” and “nobody else has had an issue” basically said to me that they don’t give a damn, which is a shame as we’ve had a meal from there almost weekly since we moved into Hapton.
Anybody any other recommendations for a local-ish Chinese?!
The food is generally very good. The service can be slow when busy and my order has been wrong on several occasions. Also, one thing that bugs me here is that I get charged a different price for the same items every time. I have had to correct overcharging a few times. As far as Chinese takeaways go, the food is consistently decent though.
I ordered a delivery from here whilst spending a few days in Hapton. The food was great quality and hot, plus the delivery driver was efficient and friendly. The staff were also pleasant and helpful when I rang up to place my order. Will definitely be ordering from here again when I'm in the area.
By far one ov the best.been goin years and not once a bad meal and excellent counter nnphone service ???????????? although I'd collect coz delivery is shocking. .Tue nite n waited 1 hour n 30 mins n still no food...
For years I have been looking for a decent Chinese since you moved away from lowerhouse lane. I’ve never found one.
Tonight is the first time Ive ordered from your hapton shop, all I can say is WOW I’ve missed your food, it tasted so good and was piping hot, just the way it should be. I will never go anywhere else again.
Very friendly staff and the food is always lovely always accommodating to needs and always offer options if something isn't available
Great food and great service, very nice people.
Sadly this place just isn't as good as it used to be. The salt and pepper chips were all soggy and not very nice at all. The salt and pepper mushrooms were much of the same. Maybe just a bad day but I'm in no hurry to return as it wasn't that cheap either
