We visited around 2pm on a weekday.
A great selection of plants and seeds available today, as well as herbal teas and crystals.
Plenty of parking available right by the hangar, which is useful for disabled parking. No need to park in the layby.
Staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful.
No customer toilets on site. I recommend pairing your visit with a meal at a local pub or the cafe down the road if you are travelling some distance.
Bought our Christmas tree here. Very happy with the choice of trees available. They happily delivered, for a small cost. They had a Christmas decorations shop, but didn't find anything I needed. They had fresh natural wreaths for sale, at a reasonable price. Will revisit in spring to look at plants for the garden.
We recently went to Wimbish Nursery and Garden Centre and were very happy with the selection of plants, many home grown. Also the knowledge Andy gave me, as I had many questions on species and care of the plants I’d chosen. I will continue to support small local businesses like this one. Well done Andy and Leigh, keep up the good professional work you do :)
It’s really just like any other garden centre but my bets thing about here is that they have birds which are quite friendly and that can slightly talk with you .
After being dissapointed during our visit to Debden Barns we headed towards Saffron Walden and came across this gem of a place. It was more than just a garden centre. They stocked a great range of plants and hanging baskets. There was the most amazing handmade gift shop that sold lovely wares from lots of different local hobbyists and crafters, all of it was well made and top notch stuff. Onsite we found during our visit two cafes, a sheet glass shop, dog grooming parlour and some kind of small complimentary therapy centre. What I liked best was that the proprietors rescue abused and neglected parrots and provide them with a new and stable, loving home. This place was a great find that we didn't know existed. Remember though that there is much more onsite than just a garden centre. To me it felt like a mini Debden Barns at a fraction of the cost and without the unecessary tres posh - a little retail paradise just outside of Saffron Walden. Sadly we were unable to get something to eat onsite as we had just had a much unsatisfactory lunch stop at the place down th road that we really must not name. Thanks to the proprietors for the friendly customer service experience, it was very much appreciated. See you again soon.
Andy & Leigh are friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. Always love visiting & purchasing plants from Wimbish Garden Centre. Keep up the good work guys!
Healthy well-kept plants, although somewhat limited range. Parrots looked very sad, bored and frustrated - kept in tiny cages which are far too small for them. Quite upsetting to see. Left without making a purchase as I did not wish to give my money to people who keep animals in such restricted conditions. Will not be returning.
Really small selection of plants, shrubs and trees. But pretty good prices if you can find what you want. I got a kerria and Sambucus nigra for £6 each which I was pretty happy with. Will visit again as it is so close to where I live
