Best KPortal Reviews

Really nice place to eat. The owner has really paid attention to detail. Nice menu. Really good food. Clean restrooms n dining area. I was impressed with the small town restaurant. And the tenderloin is to die for! Wish we had a place like that in our town! Best tenderloin I have ever had.
The waitress was nice and the place was cute. The food was decent. My son had a grilled cheese and applesauce and they charge extra for the applesauce… also, the cheese they use isn’t the best. That was my one complaint about my omelette which was otherwise great. My hash browns were good, the omelette was cooked perfectly and the bacon was delicious! But if I could change one thing it would be the cheese. Overall, cute place and I would go back!
We had ordered take out for dinner several months ago. Once I arrived at the designated time to pick up dinner, I had to wait quite a while longer as food wasn't ready yet. Once I got home with the food, it was mediocre at best. Decided we would give them a second chance as every place has a bad day now and then, so we went and dined in for breakfast today. The waitress was prompt and pleasant and took our orders relatively quickly. Then the wait began. We sat for over 45 minutes waiting for an omelette (with toast and hash browns) and some type of skillet. When the waitress said "hash browns and toast?" I assumed she was asking hash browns vs American fries and asking what type of toast I wanted. I was unaware there was an extra charge for the hash browns and toast. My fault for not clarifying. When the waitress finally delivered the food, she apologized for the wait. I asked if it was always this slow, and she responded "when this cook works, it is". Once again, the food was mediocre. The omelette was shiny and somewhat slimy, I assume from the grease. If the toast actually made it into the toaster, I would be surprised as tasted more like buttered bread. The hash browns were the best thing on the plate. The skillet was ok but not worth ordering again. We spent $30 and had to wait close to an hour for food that I wouldn't recommend to a friend. I really wanted to like this place as it does seem to get good reviews. But after two visits, I'll either eat at home or go somewhere else. (Please note the one star rating on service is reflective of the wait time and NOT the waitress!)
Quintessential example of a classic Midwestern country diner. Excellent menu, massive portions, low prices. This restaurant is a hidden gem tucked a couple blocks away from the main road that runs through Lacon, IL. The waitress was very nice and I could tell they have a lot of "regulars" because she knew most of the people by name that came in. The decor inside is modest and humble. The inside will take you back to the 1970's, but that's not a bad thing. This restaurant appears to be resourceful and doesn't focus hard on modern decor, keeping prices low for customers. I would definitely return to this restaurant when I'm in the area and I recommend giving this restaurant a try if you haven't been here before.
We were supposed to have a baseball tournament and it was rained out. We as a team along with the kids and families decided to meet at Wildey’s Country Diner for breakfast before we all went home. We did not give notice to the staff/restaurant that we were all coming. Had to have been at least 35 of us that all came in at once. The service was excellent, the food was fantastic, and we all received our food in a reasonable amount of time. I was extremely impressed with everything!
The best hidden gem this side of the midwest. My family absolutely loves this place. We’ve been to dine-in, and just got the country fried steak, fish & chips, and Barnyard mac and cheese for takeout, all were delicious even after the ride home. Seriously great food where you can tell they cook with love, and great prices. Can’t recommend this place enough.
Great little hometown restaurant.
Friendly staff and a chef who knows what they are doing .
Didn't think to take a photo before I started eating, but here is one after I attacked my breakfast.
It was a sausage, mushroom, and cheese omelet. Great choice to start your day.
Pwrfect lil diner. Traveling through, I saw this place on my root and decided to give it a try. What an absolute gift. The waitstaff was incredibly nice. The atmosphere is wonderful. Clean, open, inviting, and the decor was great too. I had the chicken fried steak sandwich with some of the most delicious season fries I have ever had. Both cooked perfectly. The whole place is just a gem. Looking forward to coming back and trying breakfast.
