Just like to say what a lovely find this was,me & my wife based at clarach bay holiday park, been to a couple of pubs for meals then read about this one ,the food was excellent home made with good portions, staff were very friendly & a nice location, been there 2 nights running, will miss this place ,give it 5 stars
On holiday on clarach bay & been to a few places to eat ,but the best by far is the white lion in talybont, the staff were very friendly & the food was excellent 5 starts, ,the pub itself is very nice & vlean in a lovely area adam clarke cannock Staffordshire
Took my kids for Sunday lunch. Great food, big portions. Tasty vegetarian option. Lovely people.
Fabulous find for a campervan stop over. Food and beer amazing, landlord, staff and locals all very friendly and helpful. The first 'proper' pub we've been to for a long time and if allowed we will def be returning!!!
Let us stay in car park overnight on our travels, had a couple of pints , the landlord and landlady were so friendly to us and our dog . The locals also made us feel welcome bringing us complete strangers into the conversation had great fun , had a great night , would recommend this pub to anyone,
It was a late Friday afternoon on a windy July day and a stop off for some drinks and food at this wonderfully friendly Pub. The owners were very welcoming and regaled us with stories of their visits to Corrallejo and renditions of "The Piano Man", some of their thoughts on their recent Hyde Park Billy Joel concert visit, and their yesteryear memories of Hall & Oates, Robert Plant, Jools Holland & Squeeze. Immediately a rapport on music and travels to match this busy pub full of friendly locals! |The range of beers was very good, and our meal of fish, chips and peas was excellent and served with a smile. A dessert of a banana split sundae was also excellent and a flashback to our only previous visit to The White Lion back in August 1991 when we were staying in Talybont. Truthfully we have tried many, many times for the past 5 years to re-visit, only to be thwarted by a total lack of car parking spaces due to the busy nature of this pub. This time we struck lucky and what a brilliant pub. Thank you to the owners, the chef and backroom team of the White Lion who made our visit so enjoyable, and Yes, we will be back for a return visit in 2 weeks time. |Loved it at the White Lion!!
7 of us had an evening meal here. Very friendly welcome from staff on arrival & good choice of drinks in the bar. Lots of dishes to chose from on the menu & we were all impressed with the size of portions & the quality of the home cooked food. If you want traditional pub food in a friendly setting which is also dog friendly you can’t go wrong at The White Lion. Looking forward to coming back for a Sunday roast soon.
Welcoming pub. Person working behind the bar and serving food on 28 June early evening was an absolute star! |Food was excellent. Plenty of it and piping hot. We had scampi and lasagne.|Had Guiness 0.0 so that was a bonus!
