I stay here for one week in every six, a really friendly place, new chef as of December 23, food was very very good breakfast lunch and dinner were all well provided, a great wee pub attached, where every Tuesday there is a music night/jam session with local musicians, always a very warm welcome to all from staff and patrons alike. |If I could be critical in any way I’d say it would benefit from modernisation and re decoration, but as a budget hotel it does what it’s meant for. It’s an amazing place and I would highly recommend it.
Came to stay here for an event. Nice little hotel. The staff were really lovely and welcoming. The room was nice and clean. Comfy bed. Just a bit too close to the bar so it was a bit noisy. Other than that a really enjoyable stay.
My friend and I booked a last minute night at the White Horse, after a particularly disappointing experience when we left another guest house early.||Staff at the White Horse were very friendly and exceptionally accommodating with us and the small dog we were travelling with. The twin room with en suite shower and toilet was comfortable and brilliantly spacious. There were some nice distant hill views from our room.|The bar downstairs was open till 12am but the noise was distant and very muffled. My friend visited the bar briefly in the evening, saying it was really friendly. |A good night sleep was had.|Overall, brilliant value!
This is a small, very friendly, country pub hotel. The rooms are very clean and the staff go out of their way to help or provide anything you need.||What lifts it into another class altogether is the food, from the first bite of breakfast to the last pudding of the night. There can be a wee bit of a wait if it is busy, but the staff cheerfully and kindly try to make sure everyone is served and fed.||It's the quality of the cooking that stands out, from the Full Scottish breakfast to the fresh fish dishes during the day and evening. I've stayed here several times for work and each visit is better than the last.
I do not advise staying here. Our room was not clean and had a shower cubicle in the corner of the small bedroom. The furniture was broken and you had to boil the kettle on the floor in front of the shower as the flex was too short. The breakfast was meant to be free but the manager tried to charge and was very rude. The breakfast was adequate but served on a table with a dirty paper cover on it.|Do not stay here!
We came through this little town by fortune and stumbled upon White Horse Hotel. The staff might be the nicest people I’ve ever met and she did everything in her power to help us having a pleasant stay - which we really did! This place has a local vibe and seems to be the town’s meeting point which creates a great atmosphere.
We arrived at 1.30 and ordered our meal, fish and chips, steak pie and a kids macaroni, we waited more than 30 mins for our meal to arrive and when it did it was not good. Fish was burnt in the batter, steak pie was chewy and the macaroni was not nice, when asked if our meal was ok we said no. We did not eat our meal and we were still charged the full price even after complaining. I would not recommend
3 night stay , rooms were adequate, shower was good. Staff and locals were all friendly and welcoming to us and our dog. Food was good overall we would go back to stay.
