Delicious food, great atmosphere. Sitting on the back deck in the evening is so relaxing
We’ve been customers since the very beginning and probably visited once or twice a month. Usually on Wednesdays early for the hot meat sandwich, which they almost always ran out of (so good). We knew there were new owners when the hot beef special came with roast beef that looked like lunch meat instead of chunks of beef. It’s been a pretty steady decline since. We still eat here because the atmosphere is cool, but the food is hit or miss. The Rueben is usually consistent, but sometimes the fries are cold, tenderloin is soggy. Last week I took a friend in and it was just bad all around. I got the chicken Philly and it came on a cold bun with the cheese not even melted, like straight out of the fridge not melted. My friend tried the gyro as it’s her favorite and couldn’t eat it, said it had a weird flavor like the meat was bad. This place has so much to offer, I hope they get the food side the business back on track!
Food was wrong. Ordered sweet potato fries and got regular. Out of onion rings. Overfilled trash cans. Didn’t give us any of our sauces we ordered. No service outside. No one checked on us. Bartenders were arguing about who was going to serve us. Wished we would have had a better experience given we bike all the time and this is right on the trail.
Great place to grab lunch and a beer while taking in Trestle Trail.
We had a nice dinner with the family here while riding the High Trestle Trail.
The food was good, and there was a decent variety on the menu. The one interesting thing was fried gizzards on the appetizer menu. The men had to give them a try, and they really enjoyed them!
Our server was very fun, and took excellent care of us.
We would definitely stop there to eat again on a future ride.
If this is the best Woodward has to offer I’d probably keep going to the next town. The table next to in quote “this service is $h!t”. Food was wrong, food undercooked to be honest. Also the chicken wrap was a tortilla with a maybe 2 peices of popcorn chicken in it. Next town we go!
Another one of our favorite stops while riding the High Trestle Trail. We usually eat here whenever we ride to Woodward - and we have never been disappointed by the food or service. Indoors or outdoors it is always welcoming and the staff is friendly.
Best service around Woodward,Iowa! No matter if they’re packed or not they are the best. The bottles are cheap but tasty as heck! The food is mouth watering! Of your in the Woodward area and want a a place to stop and have fun, go to the Whistlin’ Donkey!
