Edit: food is still good but 25 mins is a long time to wait for 4 dishes, even at peak time :-/

Good fish and chips. Very tasty. A little greasy. Poor value at £9.80 for one haddock and chips :-(
Batter is lovely and crispy. Only a few short minutes wait. Reasonable prices compared to some fish and chip shops. Staff friendly enough. Will go again.
I have been eating at this Chipshop for over 20 years and it is the best fish and chips I’ve ever had I don’t live in the village so have to drive there and never disappoints
My recent visit left me thoroughly disappointed. Charging an extra pound for a mere sprinkle of lettuce is outrageous, considering the cost of a whole bag. Their lack of empathy when I questioned this policy was disheartening. Instead of addressing my concern, they shrugged it off, displaying a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. It's clear that profit outweighs principles at this establishment. I advise potential customers to steer clear of this insensitive and unethical business. Save your money and dignity by choosing a more reputable alternative.
My recent visit to Wheathampstead Fryer left me utterly disappointed. Hearing about the £1 charge for lettuce, I was skeptical, but my experience confirmed the reports. The meager portion of lettuce provided did little to justify the inflated price, and its lackluster quality was disappointing. Transparency and fair pricing were sorely lacking, casting a shadow over the integrity of the establishment. It's disheartening to see profit overshadowing customer satisfaction. Until Wheathampstead Fryer reevaluates its pricing strategy and prioritizes honesty, I'll be exploring dining alternatives that value integrity and fairness. The taste and flavour of the food was good however i could not find any logical explanation in my mind to justify the overcharging of adding a simple humble ingredient such as lettuce to the meal without first clarifying it or having it displayed upon the menu for all to see and there for decide upon themselves whether they chose to pay for it or not.
I was shocked, disheartened and disappointed. £1 extra for lettuce.... it almost gave me an asthma attack. I knew cost of living crisis was bad but wow. Gone are the days of salad being complementary
Fab food. Well worth the wait. Staff are always busy and efficient.
Charged £1 extra just for Lettuce in my kebab - an iceberg lettuce at tesco is less.
