This restaurant probably has one of the best views of the harbor. The place is really run down. The plates and glasses were dirty. You could literally see the print of the previous guest lips on the glasses. We heard many other guests complaining about it. I don’t know if their dishwasher was broken or what was the problem. The forks, knives and the plates were dirty as well. Unfortunately seeing the dirty dishes took our appetite away. They had a few gluten-free dishes on the menu. The food was tasty but we were disgusted even after we wiped our forks and knives before we used them. Everything is really run down inside and outside of the restaurant. The owner really needs to spend some money on it. We read it online that they just had the grand opening and it is a happening place. I have to say it was a false advertisement. I hope they will renovate this place soon!
After many attempts to find a restaurant that goes to great lengths to be sure no cross contamination occurs for those with a strict diet I asked the smiling and friendly and VERY APPROACHABLE hostess named Cam if they offer anything gluten free. She then proceeded to explain the process and that the kitchen is always made aware and they took the greatest care and cleaned the grills, etc. In a place that is often visited by MANY tourists I truly wasn't expecting the amazing service received. Our waiter was also wonderful and kind as well as the rest of the staff. For that I gave 5 stars ???? and plan to return next year.
Marjorie C (SP) was awesome and made our date memorable. The young blonde lady sorry I forgot your name made us feel at home. My Lobster roll and fries were out of this world good. The appetizers are delicious. My future wife's Risotto and butternut squash was to die for. The downeast cider washed down perfectly.
First time in Maine . Found this place on Google after arriving late after 10pm. It was the only place open late. THANK YOU for being open. The wharf burger was the best burger I have had in over 6 months. It was so juicy and flavorful. Cheesy goodness . Highly recommend it! Staff was super friendly and it was DJ night after 11pm and the place was a blast ! I'll be back !!
Food was ok, mussel broth was water. Fish of the day was salmon… service was slow. Certainly better options in the area.
Bug in our food! Oh yes! Absolutely disgusting! We should have trusted our gut instincts when we walked in and there were only two couples dining! Place looked less than stellar but we were hungry! It all went downhill after that! The tableware & glassware were far from looking clean, ugh, bathroom-yikes! Our order was taken by a very pleasant young woman & was helpful describing the dishes. We ordered fried tomatoes as an appetizer (she had to check with the kitchen, didn’t know if they had tomatoes), two of us had the tres tacos & one one ordered the fish taco dish! Meal came & we asked for the rice that was supposed to be part of the dish, no rice, they forgot to make it that day! Well ok, no rice! But what we did get was a nice marinated cockroach in the fish taco dish! Absolutely disgusting! I voiced my displeasure to the kitchen & got a glimpse in - this place needs an inspection from the Board of Health! What else is running around in that restaurant, if you’ve got one cockroach, chances are you have an infestation!
Had to go back after a late night burger to see if all the food is that good, and it is! The salmon was perfect , wharf burger was the best burger in the state ! If I knew the view from the deck was so good I would have been back sooner instead of some of the other places we went. Best food in town and the manager Eric was the nicest person we spoke to in the week we were there. Wish I wouldn't have wasted my money on other places that were no where near as good but they had a good view! Advertise that view Eric and your place will be #1 in town! Thank you for being open late as well ! Great place DO NOT walk by this place !!

A group of 6 of us showed up late after Gardens Aglow (the only place open). They opened up the full menu for us when they would normally only have the late night menu.
Everything we ate came out fresh and delicious! We had mussels, burgers, shrimp and grits, fish and chips, lobster mac and cheese, asparagus, and dessert. Everything was made perfectly delicious! I even enjoyed the grits and asparagus, foods I normally dislike.
Great time here! Next time I come back, I'm hoping to try some of their homemade ice cream - there was none last night.
