I came here for lunch with my family on Thursday, August 17th. The Italian Stromboli here is amazing! The lady taking our order was very nice, but the service was oddly slow; there weren't too many other customers in the establishment, and it still took 20-25 minutes for our food to get served. Regardless, food was relatively inexpensive and super delicious!
Food is good however just another business not regarding the customer. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich that was to have crispy onion straws on top. Get the sandwich and there were none. Asked the employee and he said they were out of those so obviously was not going to address it otherwise. Total lack of integrity to conduct business in this manner. Guess the customers don’t deserve to get the food they payed for or given the chance to change their order.
Ordered takeout. Food was “ok”. Very basic and nothing stood out. Was not necessarily a bad experience though. I will note that chairs and table inside was sticky (where I sat at). Staff was super nice.
I have food allergies and sensitivities, so I am always extra cautious when I go to a new place. The folks here took my issues quite seriously, checking ingredients on their special sauces and making sure I knew which items to avoid or which items could be modified to accommodate my food needs. They made sure to use a separate knife when cutting, spreading sauces, etc, to avoid cross contamination. The gentleman we were primarily working with to order said he cooked in the army and had to go through rigorous food safety training there, including managing food allergies for their troops.
Grinders also has a gluten-free breading option (my issues are with dairy and pepper [the seasoning], but the GF bread is also DF so I was able to eat it without issues). Seriously, I can't express how grateful I was for the level of service we received. I don't live in Columbus, but I've found a new sandwich place when I'm there with my boyfriend, and we are both happy to have tried this spot!
Going to be 100% honest - got the chicken parm stromboli for $10(after tip) and it was very… average. definitely not something that stood out to me. could have just been the chicken, but very chewy/tasted old. kinda disappointed for the price i paid, and that was the “special” price. probably not going to go back.
Y.U.M! Such a gem of a spot! It’s too bad that some of these have been shutting down recently. This restaurant takes the sandwich game up a notch! The bread is fresh, soft, and oh so delicious! The side choices are plentiful as well. The cheddar mac is a fav and the pasta salad is great too. Excellent service and the place is very clean. Prices are great too.
We have been coming to this location for years.
It was consistently very good. Now there seems to be issues every time.
Last time I had an employee tell me he wasn’t going to give me banana peppers because they “cost more” than green peppers.
I was happy to pay the difference, but he was rude.
This time they forgot an entire meal from my order.
I tried to call, but apparently they stop taking calls at 6:30 even though they are open until 7.
The lady working behind the counter was rude and short and was actively ignoring customers.
We used to love this place, but this is likely the last time I’ll be spending my money here.
Great, fresh food from a local classic. Inviting atmosphere and great customer service. Plenty of options and plenty of side options. Will recommend and keep returning in the future.
