They really look after you and give you an honest answer. I have had lots of work done on my van named Bernie the Space bus. They put up with me treating my van like a child in hospital and made them Road worthy and fit for long trips away. So I day many many thank yous for everything you have done.
Westgate Service Centre is a great garage. The staff are very good and they check everything with your car. They answer all questions fully and there charges are reasonable.
A very good experience
Knowledgeable mechanic and lovely receptionist, however… I’m not currently a regular customer at any specific garage. A check engine light came on my vehicle and I thought I’d nip to the nearest garage to see if they would check out the fault code for me, with the intention of booking my vehicle into the garage once the issue was identified, as it’s local to me. A gentleman came straight out and plugged into my car and told me what the issue *could be. The whole thing took under 5 minutes. He cleared the fault and before I could book it in to be sorted, he then proceeded to ask “would you like to pay cash or card?”. I asked how much it would be and he said £42 inc VAT. I understand they are running a business and need to make money, however there had been no mention of any associated cost beforehand and this is a significant price for under 5 minutes of work. It makes me feel as though the diagnostic total cost, had it been booked in for a proper visit, would be around the £100 mark before any work actually gets done to the vehicle, and for this reason I won’t consider using this garage in the future. In this day and age every garage has a plug-in diagnostics reader, and very few would charge a potential repeat customer £42, without actually getting down to the route cause of the issue. £42 is what I’d expect to pay for a diagnostics scan and an hours labour to identify the issue.
As ever I have used westgateservices because I have always been given good and helpful advice and honesty regarding the work that needs doing on my car the are very polite and easy to talk to I am very glad I switched to using them . I would always tell others if they aren't sure who to go to I tell them about how good they are
Brilliant service from start to finish for my first time going to the garage .. they managed to fit me in for my mot as i left it till the last minute .. would definitely recommend to anyone needing a decent car garage
