Ok, so this reminds me of my childhood. Definitely has an old, small-town feel. The building is older and could use a good, deep clean and update. Our side of the restaurant had a lingering smell of cigarette smoke, I am assuming from long ago when it was a smoking section. The window ledges and walls were dirty with dead flies, and the booths were very squished or low. The service however, was good. Every employee was kind, and our server was fast with refills and plates. It is a buffet, but you can order steaks and meat separately, which is something I was not used to at a buffet. The prices were ok for today's food prices, I guess. $15 for the buffet for adults, but you can choose to just get salad bar for $5 less. The salad bar was actually quite impressive. Fully stocked with a large selection and very clean and fresh. I do wish they offered romaine or spring mix instead of iceberg lettuce only, but just about every other topping was available. They also had a lot of Southern style mixed salads, fruits, dressings, breads, and soup. The hot bar was not as impressive. It looked good at first but the veggies in particular all tasted as if they had been sitting in water all day. The broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, carrots, corn, etc all had no flavor or seasoning at all. Some others were ok like your traditional beans, mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese but the meat too wasn't very flavorful or tasty. Obviously, they serve the better hot food if you order the steaks separately and not on the buffet. If we ever tried again. I would stick with just the salad and soup bar. The biggest hit was probably the desserts with my kids. There was fresh Cobbler, cream pies, an ice cream station, and bakery items. Overall, this buffet is ok, but for the higher price, I would hope they would try to serve fresher veggies and hot food and update and clean the inside. It has potential, and I can see how they have a lot of regulars in this small town!
Wester Sizzlin is an epic old time favorite. You can get whatever you like while your spouse gets the complete opposite! HAHA Food is almost always good, but you have other options if you don't like something. Breakfast is pretty awesome as well, however, bypass the hashbrowns. They aren't my cup of hash anyways.
Cinnamon rolls & fresh yeast rolls were both great. Everything else was just “okay”. It had been years since eating here & it seems like it’s went downhill (in my opinion).
First time eating there. The service was excellent. Food was good and plenty of it. Great price for seniors. Only paid $11 for all I can eat. Nice place, I'll be going back.
We came at lunch, restaurant was very clean, delicious food. Coffee was a bit of a dark blend, tasted burned. Our waitress, Rebecca gladly got us different coffee. I got the 1A it was cooked perfectly, hubby got the food bar which had a great assortment of delightful dishes. We will come back and sit in Rebecca’s section.
I'd really like to give this place 5 stars. Food was pretty good on the bar, some of it really needed to be pulled and replaced with fresh stuff. What we ate was pretty good. Service was so, so. Our waitress really seemed unhappy to be working.
The place really needs a good cleaning. Like clean the windows, the windowseals, the places that are above your eye level, the bathrooms were decently clean but I'd recommend geting an hourly schedule to clean.
Will we come back and eat here, probably when we're back in this direction but I'd like to see some of these things addressed.
Not as many items on the buffet, as there used to be. The salad bar was excellent, the hot food buffet...meh! Meatloaf was not very good, ice cream had a funky flavor. Wish V.B. location was still open, it was a 5 star.
The service was excellent. Our waitress made sure we needed for nothing.
Been going since I was a kid. Food bar is always full and fresh. Plus they make the best cookies for dessert! The Staff is always friendly and attentive.
