Ordered an 18oz Ribeye, a 10oz Ribeye, a 6oz Ribeye (all with Baked Potatoes), and a Cheeseburger with Fries, along with 2 salads. The Ribeyes tasted like some kind of imitation steaks (there were NO grill marks, looked like they were boiled or steamed instead and was served with Steak Sauce packets instead of a bottle) and the potatoes were very undercooked (hard). The meal was edible but so is dog food. I always enjoy the fatty edges of a steak, but the steak edges was nothing but gristle that had be cut off and discarded as it was TOUGH and tasted like burnt oil. Wished we had all order a Cheeseburger instead. The meal, a whopping $101.25. I did leave the waitress a 10% undeserving tip; she never refilled my tea, so I wound up finishing my wife's tea and drinking a swig of my son's Pepsi. This restaurant was once a 5 Star restaurant in my opinion. Their food was superb and delicious and I always recommended this steakhouse to anyone no matter the distance that they would have to travel because it was that good. But,..... they have severely cut corners and severely overcharge their customers. WAS ABSOLUTELY MY VERY LAST VISIT TO WESTERN SIRLOIN. Will definitely be trying Mel's Steakhouse going forward. Don't waste your money.
The food is good but the wait before you take your order and the wait for food is way too long. Employees running all over this place and your there for an hour and a half before you get food.
AFTER: When the food got there, it had all been cooked at least 10-15 minutes and we had waited all that time for lute warm food. I wouldn't eat here if you are in a hurry, if you have all night, sure!
I am not a picky eater or complainer but this just wasn't a great experience
You walk into this place through a grain bin. It's set up really neat on the inside - even with rolling arm chairs. This is our 3rd time eating here. We've always had so- so service, but the food is so good, we'll keep going back. They have a great salad bar, but it's an extra $4.99 on top of your meal. If you're gonna get a steak, just go ahead and order the delmonico. You won't be disappointed!
Love the salad bar and the ribeye steak with was cooked to Perfection
COVID absolutely ruined this place and it has never recovered. Service was never good, but now even on the busiest nights they usually only have 2 waitresses in their whole giant dining room. The food is really over-priced. Like a standard meal there is a 15oz Aldi-quality sirloin for $16. Inedibly chewy. A small potato and a piece of bread. The salad bar is half the size it used to be and is also over-priced and low-quality. Bathrooms are SUPER gross. I will never understand why people line up out the door to eat here.
On my last visit, the mushroom appetizer was hard as rocks, couldn't eat, and the ribeye steak was supposed to be medium well, was cooked to death and dry! I brought home the steak for my dogs and they wouldn't eat it! The waitress apologized, and was very nice. I paid for the meal as usual, but have not been back. Truly wish we had more restaurants in our county. I have always supported Larry and Ann Littrel, good people, great friends. When they owned and operated the restaurant, it was awesome, but not anymore, IMO.
Ordered a medium well hamburger that was tasteless, no flavor, no seasoning. Call was made and shared my displeasure. When asked if they season and if so with what, the response was with steak sauce. There was no taste in my burger, no salty taste at all. I describe as very very bland and Very dissatisfied and disappointed.
This was our first time eating at this restaurant and it was great. It was exceedingly good under the Covid mask restrictions. The first thing that was above expectation was the salad. My wife and I both received a salad that had been previously put together and normally you might think of that as a negative but, it had everything in it you could think of including a few pieces of broccoli. Some pickled okra, onions, cucumbers and a host of other things you wouldn't expect in a basic salad. It was easy to pick out what you didn't want and it came with plenty of dressing on the side. The ribeye I cooked just right and flavorful and my wife's chicken breast was good as were both our baked potatoes. Then we saw someone get an order of steak fries so we had to order and order of those too. They were as good as they looked. So all in all it was a great night in a rustic looking restaurant that actually makes you feel like you are in a grain silo as you enter through the front door. I should probably give it a 5 star but, I'm pretty stingy and don't give those out very often. The waitress and an experienced pro and kept us in tea. Oh heck, I"m going to change it to a 5 star. I forgot to take pictures of the steak and chicken so I'll just post a picture of one of salads and menu.
