Western Avenue Surgery closed on 30.9.2022

I'm glad this surgery is closing. I've had many GPs in my life but this HAS to be the worst. The new receptionist is very very nice, however some others that work when she isn't working are just rude and unhelpful. Several times I was asked to pick up a form for a stool test, and every time I went a day or two after and they hadn't even prepared anything and always took long to confirm because they had no clue. Doctors don't seem to care at all. I've let them know several times of an issue I've had for over 3 years, they never believed me and kept prescribing tablets that didn't work. At the end, I had to slightly raise my voice and really voice my concern in a dark tone for them to take me seriously and refer me to a specialist. Have they actually? It's been over 2 months and I haven't received any letter. A disgrace for a GP in a first-world country, people in countries like Spain have better healthcare service. Do us a favour and never open a GP in an old cottage house - it's ridiculous and looks cheap.

The worst practice ever!! They never resolved any of my problem. Every time I call I get told "we already pass through the doctor you just need to wait". So far is already one week I'm waiting for my sick notes and I'm keeping calling them every single day. Thanks to theme I won't recieve any payment from my job. Furthermore, I was assured the referreal for my doppler scan was passed to the hospital around 8 months ago and for weeks I have been called back and forth between hospital and GP because the hospital was saying they sent to the wrong the department but the only replied I ever had from the GP was that "we already pass through the hospital you just need to wait". So as I really needed the scan, I had to get it privately (even though completly entitled for the NHS). Every time you want to book for an appointment you have to wait for mininum of 2 weeks for a negligent 2 minutes call. I have already lost all of my hopes to get my sick note, exactly the same way I have lost them for my doppler scan. It is already one week and I didn't recieved any response yet and the recovery time needed was for 2 weeks. The first thing I'll do as soon I'll start feeling better will be surely move to another GP practice! This one is just a SCAM!!

This is not a luxury business where people can live without your services, you are dealing with ill people that have no any other option than get through their GP,

SHAME ON ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR NEGLIGENCE!

Most unprofessional rude people ever. The doctors hate their jobs and are not helpful. Why not close the place? Do something you love or are good at. It is disgusting! And yes I am a patient! Ive seen your replies when people write from other accounts. Who has time to write a fake review.

Worst GP I ever came across. I ignored the bad reviews and registered myself and my son at this GP due the location. I generally had not had issues in the beginning. After two three appointments I realized that the male doctors are absolutely clueless of what they are doing. One day I went there due to a small hernia i got after pregnancy. I tried to explain my symptoms to the doctor who told me not to worry and prescribed me medication for gastric. When I asked what it is for and whats wrong with my stomach, he said don’t worry just take the pills. He could not diagnose my symptoms. Their phone is most of the time busy, very hard to get through. I needed an emergency appointment, called them for two days and when I finally managed to get through I was offered an appointment three days later which is three days late. I finally decided to find my self a new GP!

Whilst I've not had any issues with the GPs here who have been great, my review rating is mainly for how well the service has been provided, in particular by Laxmi, one of the receptionists who stands out above the rest. Always very friendly and caring, helping over and above requirements, but also strong when she needs to be. Laxmi is an asset to the surgery, keep up the good work!

Excellent staff and doctors. Have been using this surgery from last 16 years and they have always supported our whole family in all difficult times . During covid my husband was hit badly and I am extremely thankful to all the staff and wonderful doctors for being in touch and always available.

I had a good experience in which they responded quickly and referred me to the hospital. But after that I have never managed to get an appointment.

Today I called and was told to book one and was told to call next week to book an appointment! So even booking the appointment needs a week now!

I was really trying to keep the place as my GP, around 2 years because is really close to my home. I understand that the moment most of the focus is to treat covid issues, but rest of the people still getting another health issues. I asked a referral to the hospital for my stomach and they don't want and is getting worst my situation, with this issue on my stomach I got another issue and the doctor just said to me to search in the Google the place to make exams??? How comes?? In the end of the call (4 minutes only) he said: well we are talking too much???? Wich kind of professional is this one.
