Best KPortal Reviews

If you want great tasting, authentic Korean food, look no further.
The service here was quick (for a 6pm thursday, despite having what looked like only 2 staff), and the place gave a very homey vibe. I got the Spicy Rice Cake (떡볶이), Gimbap (김밥), Pan Fried Mackerel (고등어구이), and Soon Dae Blood Sausage (순대)--which I recommend you try, you will be pleasantly surprised.
I think I would’ve preferred the bulgogi to be more salty rather than just sweet. The soup was good, although the cabbage could have been slightly softer. The mackerel was the best - crispy and flavorful.
It was very ordinary Korean food, Banchan was bad and Kimchi ordinary. All the food we ordered was sweet! We had specifically told that we like spicy food. I had an impression that Bulgogi was supposed to be spicy, but it was not. Everything from chicken, to pork, to beef was similar in taste. It was overpriced too. We were dissapointed
Terrible experience. The old lady (waitress? boss? manager?) is RUDE. She gave us no response at all every time when we say "please" "may I.." "Thank you". No free hot tea or water for us, but other tables have tea or water. Why? Because she thought that we have ordered two beverage and no need for tea and water. She missed one of our orders, but she blamed us with incredible loud voice for not ordering clearly....she shouted twice...
Conclusion: rude and no service at all.
BTW, the food is just below average level, way worse than korean restaurants in California or NYC. But we don't have much choices in little towns here.
I got the Galbi Short Ribs lunch special and wife ordered the water dumplings. What an absolute feast this was. The short ribs weren't super tender but they were good and the sauce is incredible. Kimbap rolls were great idk what's in them but it was better than probably any sushi I've ever had. The noodles were iight. Fried battered sweet potato fries WOW. dumplings were good as well. And all the small dishes on the side came with what we ordered. One was like eggplant in some sort of sauce which I was surprised how good it tasted. Just overall a great experience. Fair prices. Great customer service.
9/10
5 to 10 years ago, I would have given a 4 or 5 star review and lauded it as the best Korean restaurant in the area. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. I am sure that the residual effects of the lock-down on small restaurants and rising prices overall are primarily to blame (which is why this is a 3 star review instead of a 2), but my family's experience here was incredibly disappointing compared to our visits in the past.
Prices were significantly higher across the board, which is unfortunate but understandable... except that food quality has also dipped significantly. Two of our "hot" fried dishes were warm at best and even cold at parts. The texture of the and quality of the ingredients was not particularly fresh. The broth in the spicy seafood stew was far less rich but made far spicier to hide it. There were far fewer sides than in the past, and they charged for more, when in the past they would be complementary and you didn't even have to ask.
All that said, it wasn't a "horrible" experience, but as someone who used be to a repeat customer in years past, I will most likely no longer be visiting or recommending this restaurant.
It took us more than one hour to get the foods. The speed of cooking is too slow. And the seafood pancake is overcooked. Otherwise the foods are good.
Amazing hidden Gem! Been twice loved everything. Great service and food authentic and packed with flavor. Parking could be tricky and seating is limited. So plan ahead, nothing fancy just great food!
