Probably the most affordable food option in LaGuardia airport terminal B. I ordered through the Wendy’s app (the app’s offers and rewards can be applied to your order here). I had the strawberry chicken salad which were delicious and fresh. However, they were missing several items and the special requests that I had put in the order through the app. The ghost pepper fries and spicy chicken nugget were also decent. Finding a table when the airport is busy was also quite a challenge.
Bad franchisee.
I used the app to order breakfast with a coupon offer, but the order never went through on the order progress screen. When I asked the cashier about it, she dug up a receipt and claimed the payment was rejected. I initially bought this explanation because my credit card was transitioning to a new one (same number, new expiration date).
I asked whether I can pay at the cashier for the same deal (BOGO breakfast sandwich). She said no, but that I was welcome to buy two sandwiches at menu price.
Since the BOGO deal was used up, I ordered on the app again with another coupon. It also never showed up on the order progress screen. So I asked the cashier about it. She dug out the receipt, and a worker made my breakfast sandwich, and it was grudgingly handed to me.
Later on, I found out that the cashier had lied about payment being rejected for the first order. Based on my credit card activity, the Wendy's HAD taken the money for it. So I called Wendy's help line and told my story. The person on the Wendy's help line was very, very nice and patient. She explained that she was unable to reverse the charges directly, since this was an independent franchisee. But she could either give me a credit that I could use within a month, or she could ask the franchisee to refund my order. I asked for a refund because I don't have a Wendy's within reasonable distance from me (until recently, that is).
Alas, the refund never took place. I made sure to get my money back in some fashion.
I would go to any of the other restaurants in Terminal B and avoid this Wendy's.
Tried to use the mobile app and couldn't distinguish terminal c from the other terminal, asked employee for help and he couldn't help me. I then went to use the kiosk which states rewards coming soon to kiosk but see a team member for assistance with rewards and offers. I asked a team member and he said we don't accept rewards/offers, I said oh, just asking because the kiosk says to see team member for rewards/offers to which he said let me get my manager. Female manager came out and said we don't accept rewards here because we're not a corporate store. I then said oh, it just says to see a team member for the rewards/offers. She said yeah, see a team member so we can tell you we don't accept rewards/offers and she just walked away. Then the original TM I spoke to said to me- I just don't know what answer you were looking for.
If the manager is rude then you'll get rude employees because they enable that behavior. Leaders must lead. She is clearly a manager and not a leader by any stretch. Horrible experience in this franchise location. Franchise owners should be ashamed to have staff as rude as this and corporate should do an unannounced visit with questions like mine so they can experience the lack of service and rudeness. I was polite as possible but they all seemed just miserable and upset at the world. Shame- I was looking forward to a burger. I get the "participating restaurants" thing but the rudeness was unacceptable. Managers should also be empowered to make decisions in the customer's best interest......maybe only in corporate stores.
Potbelly employees were very nice and food was delicious- and I spent about $20.
First of all, the manager is not friendly, he is a despotic person, the famous bigi bag combo that includes nuggets is not included there, to ask for anything you have to beg as if you were begging and not buying. They make the cheese sauce very watery. I'm sure they add more water so that it's enough for them, but they are losing the good quality that characterized these food chains before. The only one who is friendly there is the girl at the cashier because of the rest, the others, including the manager. They are very inattentive to the customer.
My bacon chicken ranch sandwich was hot and fresh, and so were the fries. Ketchup was available to grab at the counter. The ordering process was harder than necessary because the speaker was busted and the music from the water feature behind the counter was overwhelming. The staff was friendly and my order was correct.
My Classic Dave's combo was served hot and fresh. The overworked employees remained calm and polite. But wait, the courtyard fountain was a great background show with the great food. It's airport food.
Ripoff ….charging extra for water and potatoes for a “combo” meal. Wendy’s corporate and NYC/LGA needs to investigate this franchise for fraud…
“Are all the [$7.99 combo] chicken biscuit pieces this small?” “Yep.”
I digress. Staff is friendly though! 1 star for sandwich, 5 for the Caesar Salad. Fresh romaine. Always enough chicken. Yummy!
