WHAT HAPPENED WENDY'S?
I was in the mood for a Wendy's burger tonight so I got in line at the drive through on West Liberty Ave. After some time I was greeted by a very loud pre-recorded greeting. I figured it would give me more time to look at the menu so no big deal. Finally an employee spoke, I don't know what he said because it sounded like a whisper. I figured he asked what I wanted, so I started giving my order. He quietly stated my total, so I said thanks & pulled around to the first window. The light was on and the window was half was open but no one was there so I moved to the 2nd window. A tall young man looked depressed or angry it was hard to tell, he handed me my drinks one at a time. He said nothing, didn't even ask for payment. Behind him were many employees bustling around. I finally handed him my bank card and he took it without a word and handed it back the same way. I said thanks, again, hoping he would see my smile and return with a word or two, any word, I didn't care what word or words at this point. Next, he hung his arm out of the window, clutching my dinner. I took the bag and he still said nothing. I wasn't going to let his rudeness rub off on me. I politely gave him my last thank you and drove home to find...an old, hard, baked potatoe and a burned, sad, little excuse for a Big Bacon Classic. Refer to pic. When did management and business owners start dropping the bar sooo loooow! Seriously. It's always bad there but I keep holding on to the hope that they'll get back to how they use to be. I'll never go back now. I'm done. So sad.
Wendy's has always had one of the fastest drive-thru's across all of the major fast food chains in my opinion, but this location tries (and succeeds) in lowering the bar an incredible amount. It was actually such a bad experience, it's actually shocking to think that this location still bears the "Wendy's" name.
I stopped in with my sons at this location on 4/13 at 12:10 am. The time was 12:48 am when we finally pulled out of the parking lot. That was not a typo - we were 38 minutes in the drive-thru! Fortunately, a few cars ahead of us gave up waiting (as did some cars behind us), otherwise the time would have been even worse. By the end of the experience, we had actually gone through a range of emotions including anger, to finally acceptance and actually finding humour in it all.
While the number of people they have on this late is reduced, there is no excuse for an order of 3 combos to take 38 minutes! Plus, and I am sorry to say this, the small handful of people working is clearly not the "A-Team" - our favourite was the employee with his hat turned to the side who you could tell was stoned out of his mind.
If you need to kill time, this is by far the best Wendy's to go to. As evidenced by other reviewers, our experience is "on par" for this location.
Wendy's corporate really needs to do something about this location, it's that bad.
I only ordered frosty's on the mobile app. The line was long, and people were leaving. I truly think it was due to the workers. I only needed my frosty's handed to me, I was sitting at a pick-up window watching them melt for a minute while the worker got the next order together. I don't order food from this location because the fries are typically cold.
Spicy chicken soooo goood also best place to buy a chicken sandwich cause better bread when grilled n chicken is best flavored all chicken is very good quality n the new fries are so much better ,best chili ever ,best baked potatoes ,,best chicken salad ,grilled or breaded ,good dressing but not best yet,west liberty is my favorite Wendy always ,cause I used to work at dealership next door when it was Chrysler, Jeep ???? eagle,AMC, ate Wendy's almost everyday unless my boss ordered fioris pizza ???? lol God bless Dave the founder of Wendy's families family ???? ♥ ♥ ????
The prices at this location have reached an obscene level. Remember when getting a combo used to be a great deal when you wanted more than a sandwich? Well they have jacked up prices to FOUR DOLLARS on top of the price of just the sandwich for the smallest possible combo size. If you get fries, they are cold and stale and barely edible. And if you do want just a sandwich, be prepared for it to taste old and overcooked, just like my Baconator was. In a hurry? Keep on driving unless you have 5 minutes to sit at the order screen, with no other cars on the property, while employees tell you "just one minute". This may very well be due to understaffing, but that means the franchise is to blame for both of these things and the owner needs to do a serious re-evaluation of the way things are run while they still can.
I will give it an extra star simply because the food did not make me sick (which may seem like a low bar to clear, but a lot of local fast food establishments don't even clear that anymore), my order was correct (no matter how cold, tough, and expensive it was), and the employees weren't rude. But I certainly won't be rolling the dice here again.
I get being understaffed but this is by far the worst drive-thru I've ever been in. The wait in the evenings is ridiculous!! I have left the line on more than one occasion. Expect to wait at the very least 20 mins then be sure to check your bag because there's a 9 out of 10 chance they forgot something.
Just had possibly the worst fast food meal in my life. We were the only customers in the drive-thru, and still, our order was wrong. Was given the wrong chicken sandwich and smaller size meals than we paid for. Both of our chicken sandwiches were almost unedibly dry, and the fries were disgusting and heavily over-salted. We may stop eating at Wendy's as the ones in our area have been at best inconsistent and at worst disgusting.
I was in the drive thru for 20 minutes and was just met with "we had call offs" and an attitude from the manager on duty. Even with call offs there is ZERO reason for ANYONE to be in the drive thru for THAT long. Don't waste your time or money here. Go to the one in Robinson instead or the McDonald's down the street. I'll be contacting corporate as well.
