Got pulled in for a flat and put out of service when tire wasn't even low on air. Another scale same day delayed me for same issue and the gentleman there explained that tires not matching tread depth would trigger a flat tire response and he let me go.
Lost 5 hours and replaced a tire that didn't need it because of someone's incompetence.
I had a trailer tire blowout about three-quarters of a mile before I got here. When I pulled in of course everybody got the bypass but me and I had to weigh then the guy had me pull around back. He actually ended up being a real nice guy once I got the tire fixed he let me go without any repercussions..
This experience has really changed my perception of the Illinois inspection guys at least at this location
The weigh station is a quiet and peaceful place to take a break.
Just so you know State of Illinois your westbound weigh station sign needs to have light bulbs replaced. Signed says CL when your closed.
It was great, it was closed and all I needed was a power nap...
Nice place to get some sleep when you're ELD says you're day is over.
