Best KPortal Reviews

Met here for lunch and was not disappointed. I wanted to order more food, but I thought I would control myself. Connected with a friend and found out that he had been wanting to go to this place, and he was pleased as well. You get service with a smile, and the sweet tea is the good southern style. I will be back.
I went and picked up. IDK what to say man. The gumbo is entirely too fishy. I lived in Kenner for several years and never had full dungeon crabs in my Gumbo. It threw me off and made the gumbo nearly inedible. When crab sit too long in a sauce it makes the sauce fishy. The little bowl? 20 dollars y'all. 20. Dollars. They are over priced. I tried to like the gumbo but I ended up throwing it away after 2 bites. They are overpriced for what they are selling. The jambalaya is good but it is over priced. 8 dollars for 8 oz.... Rice is not that expensive and 3 little cube sausages doesn't make up the rest of the cost. I couldn't justify trying anything else because I left spending $30 for a small thing of jambalaya and gumbo I couldn't stomach. I was incredibly disappointed. And the interior is tacky. I know it's Mardi Gras themed, makes sense but there's a way to do it that isn't so party city. The service was great. They were nice to me and friendly and helpful..... But that's it
Thank you Chef Yonder and staff. I saw this place a year ago. It peaked my interest (purple building!) but the better-half doesn't like Cajun style food. She's outta town this weekend and I was thinking about dinner. Ding! It was time.
It was AWESOME!! The staff was friendly. Atmosphere was great. But the food!!!!!
I had the Down By The Bayou with catfish. Replaced the white rice with Jambalaya. Added a side of Southern Mixed Greens. There was enough for 2-3 people!
It was pricey. But this is right up there with fancier places. I feel it was worth it. I will be back and can't wait to try other menu items.
And we are back! It is my birthday, Pi Day. And this was my birthday dinner. Unfortunately we had to do takeout. But I went down to place the order. Chef Yonder and her crew ROCK! Ordered the Chef Special with Jambalaya for the better half and Down By the Bayou (catfish) for me. Chef came out and presented a piece of cake and a birthday hug. Awesome! This place is genuine. The vibes here are great. Oh yeah, the food Delicious! We van't wait until next time.
Trans /LGBT friendly in my experience , very good food. Bit on the $$ side but then when tasted it seems well worth it. I will definitely go back later , flavor is amazing.
A hidden gem of Cajun cusine. The service was phenomenal and the few of bourbon street. The crayfish etouffee wasn't the best I ever had but was good. The rolls and tea are great. Will come back and try the gumbo next time.
Food was delicious and Michael was a great server, only thing I didn't like were the prices were really high
The server was friendly and the food was excellent - huge portions of both po'boy and tilapia with wonderful side dishes to compliment. We enjoyed the colorful ambience - juke box playing while dining, decor theme New Orleans throughout & wall includes photos of some popular entertainers. I've been twice on a Saturday afternoon plenty open seating for small dining groups.
I have been to N.O. several times and I have had better gumbo. The chicken and sausage gumbo was missing some seasonings to really taste like true gumbo.
I also ordered the whiting fish. It tasted very good. However, for the price, I didn't know that I was only paying for one piece of fish. There was no bread or toppings included.
I will return for the fish, but this time, I'm going to find out how much does it cost to buy 2 pieces of fish.
I did look at the whiting fish meal. It cost $30.00. I feel like it was way overpriced. Some of the side toppings cost more.
I have eaten at other restaurants where the fish was good, the meal included 2 pieces of fish, fries, and a soda including bread, etc. without an extra cost for half the price. I don't understand why the prices are so high??
