My partner and I took advantage of the tax day special and stayed for two nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the staff were super helpful and friendly. The view of the river was the best! And so was the hot tub. We look forward to staying here again!
Beautiful vintage accommodations.lots of space. Had so much fun. Great little town and amazing people. Also enjoyed Charlie’s pub! |When you think of Minnesota nice you will think of this place. |Highly recommend visiting this lovely historic hotel.
This hotel has the best views of the list bridge. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely stay. The honesty of the housekeeping staff was beyond words and we cannot thank them enough for taking care of us. We highly recommend this hotel.
This hotel could be nice but has the following challenges: whomever takes care of lighting doesn't understand that light at night should be warm yellow to orange in color temperature. They put light bulbs in room and hallways that are purple or bright white, with a smattering of yellow bulbs. The result is a pastiche that is hard on the eyes and bad on the circadian rhythm. This is a really stupid thing to do and easy and cheap to fix. Further the room has no closet for hanging, just a bar on the wall next to the door and the air conditioning is a questionable wall unit. The electrical sockets next to the desk do not work and the desk chair clearly has cracks in the wood and is about to break under me as I write this. Oh and I'm told the woman at the front desk is friendly, if by friendly you mean extremely rude when you check in - of course this is just an opinion. It's not all bad the location on the river is nice in the rooms are decent size with high ceilings. But this hotel needs to get their game together.
We stayed at the Waterstreet Inn for two nights when in Stillwater for our daughter's wedding and it was a very fine experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room (modern) was clean, comfortable and had a great view of the ice sculptures! My wife uses a wheelchair and the room was very accessible. Michelle, the manager, was very friendly, accommodating and helpful from start to finish.
I, and several of my friends, stay at this hotel every year for a large event. The front desk lady is not very helpful (Margie?). I asked if my room was ready an hour before check in, and she just said the rooms aren't ready yet and did not even check my specific room. Like all the rooms are magically going to be done at the exact same time of 4 PM. If you stay here, hopefully you won't get a plaid floor room... the carpet is hidious and STRESSFUL. I wonder what the designer was thinking when they chose that carpet. Also for large events (which is always what I come for) the food is just under mediocre in flavor and presentation, but it was warm. The bar connected is great for live music and Stillwater itself is a beautiful location. I may have to encourage the annual event committee to look into other accommodations for event goers in the future.
Great location by the water, close to bars, shops and restaurants. The newly renovated side of the hotel looks beautiful. We stayed in the older “Victorian” part which was interesting.
Nice historic hotel right on the water front and within walking distance of all the attractions of Stillwater. I was in town for business for one week. All in all I had a great stay. The rooms are very large, but could do without the corner Jacuzzi tubs and add some more furniture in it's place. The bathroom could use some updates to the shower. The staff was really great and took care of any of my needs.
