Just returned from Cricket St. Thomas's. Weather not brilliant but able to get out or to enjoy the undercover amenities. Food very good. Service at table also very good. I would out of a good waitng crew especially mention Mr. Kieron Best who professional and worklike attitude to his guests was an example to follow. A great ambassador for his employer.|Rooms were fine and kept well. Admin staff were capable and efficient.|All in all, a god break in between hospital and medical appointments. provided a much needed R & R.| Thank you to all the staff.|R &J Martin Hall
Fabulous hotel We love it so much this is our third visit. To celebrate Hubby's birthday we did the Gin Tasting today with Michelle Clarke. It was just brilliant. Michelle knew loads of the history behind gin, made everyone feel welcome made sure she included everyone in the group by speaking to us all. Hubby certainly had a good time. So much so he is doing the cocktail making experience with Michelle tomorrow which we hear will be just as good. Warners, Michelle is a real credit to you!!
Booked 2 nights here for my wife's birthday. Wasn't sure what to expect but we couldn't fault anything here. It cost £300 and this included the room, breakfast and dinner as well as quizzes and entertainment. It was nice to find a welcome pack of soft drinks crisps and biscuits in the room as well as plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate with proper milk in the fridge! The evening meals were excellent with a wide choice of dishes and the menu changed each night. The service was, as were all the staff, swift and cheerful. My wife and I both agreed that Cricket St Thomas had the feel of a cruise about it. No bad thing in our opinion. Breakfast was just as good as dinner and though lunch wasn't included we loved the lunch in the main house. Also included was archery and rifle shooting which was really good fun despite the cold! The evening entertainment included singers, a good band, a comedian and the theatre groups musicals show, all of which were really good. I would warn anyone considering booking, that the hotel is spread over a large area so you might want to check where your room is in relation to the theatre etc as some would entail quite a walk. We wish we'd had more time to explore the grounds as the setting is amazing! We loved our stay and would definitely recommend this lovely place. Thanks and well done to all the staff.
Our room situated in the Courtyard was an ideal location. The Staff were excellent, courteous, efficient, attentive. The food was good quality and plentiful with sufficient choice to please everyone. The evening shows put on by the resident production group were really good especially "Bohemian Rock". The grounds were in excellent condition, well maintained and comfortable for walking. Weather not suitable for the outside activity.
Our 6th Warner break in 15 months. 3 rooms booked for a family party of 5 . Beautiful setting, great accommodation and amenities in Courtyard signature rooms. Very enjoyable entertainment from resident band / entertainers to guest singers / bands. All the staff we spoke to were very professional and helpful and worked hard to ensure we all had a lovely break, || Ideal for adult groups, couples and groups of friends. Lots of activities available throughout the day should you wish to remain on site . As we had our mother with us, who is a wheelchair user, we preferred to spend time with her and didn’t take advantage of the leisure facilities this time. We booked afternoon tea for day 1 which was delicious. Day 2 we went for a brief visit to Chard and then took part in the 80s themed music quiz . On the 3rd day we visited Lyme Regis which was surprisingly near.||We enjoyed all of the evening entertainment and guests Shelly Ann and Rocketmania as well as resident entertainers performing in ABBA fantastic were all excellent.||Mixed age groups which was good , mostly nature guests . it should appeal to younger guests as part of a family group or group of friends looking for a leisure break in beautiful settings . Would recommend checking musical entertainment theme before booking to ensure that you get the best experience .||Food is excellent and seems to follow the same format throughout . I would like to see different countries’s food included .||The themes were Asian one night, Italian on day 2 and Indian on day 3 as well as daily specials and roast. I would like to see Asian and Indian as one theme , Italian on another and maybe Greek /Mediterranean on another. Or perhaps Spanish ? However, it was all lovely
Excellent resort, we enjoyed our 2 night stay. All the staff were really helpful and attentive. The food was brilliant with plenty of choice and the entertainment was also very good, we particularly enjoyed Legends of Folk.
Harrison in the restaurant was very pleasant and helpful as well.
We really enjoyed our 4 night stay here in January. I can't comment on the entertainment because we didn't experience it, we went for the "peace and rest." We had a standard room and it was really nice. Others have commented on the long walk from some rooms to reception and the restaurant, but we found it OK, despite our room being about as far from the restaurant as possible and a short part of the walk being out of doors. As it rained during our visit, it required a coat to be worn. The food was lovely and the service was excellent. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
I didn’t know what to expect and was worried that the Hotel might feel like a Holiday Camp, but it was more like a cruise ! |The staff were friendly and helpful and worked hard to make sure we had a good time. Especially Felix our waiter and Michelle at the Cocktail Making experience as well as reception and housekeeping. I have a restricted diet but was pleased that I was well catered for . My only wish was the the Carvery had served Chicken and Gluten and Dairy free gravy as I don’t eat red meat. |I loved the look and size of my bedroom and bathroom. It was modern and clean . I was pleased I had booked a Signature Courtyard room . The Entertainment Team worked hard and we particularly liked Phil singing ballads as it showed off the full range of his voice . The grounds are stunning . In fact I wished we were staying longer than 3 nights as I didn’t get time to have a swim or have a treatment in the Spa. ||As feedback I would have liked to have heard those who were talented singers to have done some straight sets of singing only , without getting audience participation, as it spoilt the flow of engaging with them . At another time a session where it was advertised as “ a sing along only “would have been good . Loved the Cinema but couldn’t understand why most of the films were stereotyped for an over 65yr audience . This was true of some of the entertainment too . |My group of friends that I came with are all over 65 (a couple over 70) and love more modern music and movies and mixing with younger people. |Looking forward to going to another Warners Hotel soon.
