Pleasantly surprised, pound per pound as far as Walmart goes.
People are genuinely friendly, especially auto. Paul, the Team Lead, routinely goes above and beyond.
Today I saw him check out a non auto shopping order; then, put air in a bike tire someone is about to purchase who doesn't have a car.
He's terrific.
The Grand Haven store is always kept clean, and the staff are always friendly. The department's are well stocked and items are of pretty good quality...Well I bumped down my original review from 4 stars to 2 stars. While shopping there yesterday. There were 3 employees standing around talking about what their weekend had in store. I find it pretty bad that the three people working in produce could not see every piece of garlic was rotten. Maybe pay more attention to your work and less standing around talking about weekend plans.
I love going to The Grand Haven Walmart, the staff is always friendly. They have lanes open to check out. I do not like self check out. So I'm very thankful that this Walmart has lanes open. I also don't have to wait a half hour to checkout like I do at a different Walmart I used to go
I highly recommend going to the Grand Haven Walmart.
I brought my vehicle here for an oil change. They messed it up leaving my vehicle inoperable. They towed it back to fix it after arguing with the manager (who apparently completed the botched work). They called me and told me it was ready and when I arrived the manager told me I was all set and was going to refund my money. He walked away with what appeared to be a lawyer and arrived back with paperwork telling me he needed a signature for the refund. When I inspected the paperwork it was not for a refund, they had written up a settlement agreement that they were trying to trick me into signing.
I was at this location at 1pm this afternoon. It was outrageous only ONE regular checkout was open. And the self checkouts were pretty busy with sizable orders. I only had 2 items. I'm not opposed to self checkouts, but have more checkouts open.
The vision department manager has failed to process I and my husband’s vision insurance claim. We’ve received multiple bills from their Wellness and Health billing department, for services that were supposed to be covered entirely by our insurance policy. To date, our insurance company has not received any of the billing. I contacted the vision manager multiple times with no success in solving this problem. He has refused to give me contact information for his immediate supervisor. There seems to be no way to contact a store manager who could hold this department manager accountable. Do not use this vision department. I will never use Walmart vision again and hope that others will heed my warning.
Dear Grand Haven Walmart management,
Do you want to know why your store sucks? Because you refuse to have a sufficient number of checkouts open, yet you force your customers to do self-checkout, even backing that up. That's why I'm slowly, but surely shifting my grocery shopping to the Meijer across the street.

I went their to purchase ammo. I asked an associate for help, they had to page for a person to sporting goods. After 10 mins. I went back to the same associate and asked again if he would page for someone. His attitude was like I pulled teeth. I found another associate thinking this was the person. And she took off acting like she was going to help. I heard her page for an associate to sporting goods. No one came, so after the total of 20 mins. I left.
