The cheddar biscuits are so fresh! The chicken is seasoned perfectly and pairs so well with their dipping sauces. The staff is so sweet as well! Very clean restaurant. Also they give 25% off for Military and First Responders which is so generous! Highly recommend when in the area.
My family & I live in the local area but was out doing some shopping & saw this place as "Now Open". So we decided to check it out. It was 10 of us with several small kids. There were about 7-10 other folks inside already and 1 family in front of us before ordering. The menu was very easy to read. I would maybe ask for one to be at eye level or on the counter vs. up above (it may already be 1 also, I just didn't see it). We all ordered our food, and everything came out with 10-15 mins of placing the order. The kids had chicken tender kids' meals with fries or mac & cheese and 1 had fried chicken meal. The older kids had 3-4 piece tender meals with fries, and I had 6-piece lemon pepper wings.
The place was nice and clean to include the restroom and the staff including the owner were all nice & welcoming.
I definitely recommend this place & we'll definitely be back.
Excellent fried chicken. Now fried chicken styles is a contested subject. For reference my sandwich was thigh meat and the tenders were tenderloins. Thin but crispy breading, like biting into cornflakes. The thigh meat left it very moist but higher in grease from it being a naturally fattier cut than a breast.
Fries were shoestring thin but a little on the short side for length. (average between 1 and 2 inches) Made them harder for dunking in to sauses. Said sauses are house made.
If you enjoy beers there is a decent local and craft draft selection. I did see some spirits behind the counter but didn't look for a cocktail menu as that isn't my cup of tea.
We had a...not so good experience the last tom we came. The G.M/ part owner responded and said to let him know when we were coming back. He said he would make it right. We stopped in 1/17/24 for dinner. I let him know after we ate that we were there. 100% better than our last visit. I didn't want a free meal or anything, so I let him know after we ate! Roasted Chicken is a must!
The McNabb's from Imperial Missouri. First time visitors to Waldo's on Sunday night, November 5, 2023, finishing up our annual Destin vacation, we wanted to try a new venue. We noticed Waldo's the other day when we went to Carrabba's around the corner at Silver Sands Outlet Mall. Let me tell you, what a fantastic experience! The place was very pleasant, unfortunately not many people which I can't understand? The setup is great, music was awesome. The menu, spot on with the name. The food, Fantastic! Chicken tenders were phenomenal and the potato wedges were to die for. The entire team was engaged and made our experience so worth it. If you want great chicken, give them a try! Above a fast food experience, clearly beats the majority of Destin restaurants which don't have high quality or interest in serving their customers. What a great breath of fresh air! Alex the Manager and Bella were so awesome to talk with sharing the history of Waldo's. Mr. Mark Waldo, please give this place all the materials and exposure to succeed in Florida, you have a super staff/team at this location. Grade A++++
We went for their opening trial run, everything was free. We enjoyed the warm biscuits, the chicken sandwiches fried and pulled, chicken nachos, hot wings, chicken plate, chicken tenders and mac and cheese for the kids, everything was delicious, staff was friendly and helpful. The only bad thing was that in the pulled chicken sandwich my friend found a really sharp bone. We know that could happen since they cook the chicken whole. We did let them know so they are more cautious when pulling the chicken apart. However everything else was great, highly recommended this place!
Seriously some of the best food I’ve had. The mac and cheese is mouth watering, and I had to get some cheddar biscuits to go because I couldn’t get enough. Definitely a new favorite!
Had a friend pick some up a while back and loved it. Came by for some tenders and they were rock hard. They came out to almost a dark brown. Definitely a change from what I had a while ago. Unfortunate as I was excited about a new chicken place.
