It's Italian Heritage Month so naturally I was craving pizza. I decided to stay local and get myself a slice. In terms of ambiance, this Waldo Cooney is a hole in the wall - it's a very small establishment ment for takeout/ calling ahead. The service was excellent. I wasn't aware about the "BOGO pizza slices" on Thursdays but the cashier had informed me. The pizza itself left a lot to be desired. While the pizza slices are large in size, they're also very thick and more dough than cheese and sauce etc. I will have to come back again to see if this was a one off or how the pizza is typically made.
It was becoming a favorite but suddenly became inconsistent. Sometimes it's perfect, and when it is it's delicious; but I noticed if you get the deal for the free additional medium pizza it's all burnt. The staff always seems cool and pickups are consistently on time.
For almost $7 a slice the pizza should at least have flavor. Super bland, very little cheese, almost no sauce, but the crust was over an inch thick. We couldn't even finish them, ugh!
The food is very fresh and always hot when you go for delivery. I have no complaints. Oh, don't let me forget the Italian Beef dipped hot peppers is really good and flavorful. Also, ask about the Large pizza with a 1 liter pop is only $19.99 plus delivery
I like this place for Chicago tavern style pizza. Thin crust and SQUARE CUTS! The sauce is decent and they use the perfect amount of cheese. Give it a try today!
**If you have to wait longer than 15 mins for mistakes ASK FOR A FRESHLY MADE PIZZA**
This review is for Waldo management that the “warmer” does not keep pizzas fresh or warm.
Please consider making new pizzas when you fail to have an order complete and ready.
The staff lost my chicken sandwich that came with my pizza and had to wait another 30 mins for it while the pizza was in the “warmer”
The cheese has solidified (not stretchy) and lost its sheen. We love ordering from here considering it’s high prices and this is the last thing we want from the pizzas here
Ordered an Italian Beef and Giardinara pizza. Got Giardinara. Now I love this spot, but come on, a couple tiny slices of Italian Beef? Really??
Very good deep dish pizza. I was visiting Chicago and decided to try a new place for a change. The ingredients were fresh, tasty, crust and sauce. It was a great lunch choice!
