Randomly limped my car here on a Monday morning when the engine light came on between Chicago and Peoria. Chris and Eric were incredibly gracious and made time in their already busy schedule to check it out, door dash a part and get me back on the road within the hour. So very grateful!! Amazing people.
I called and asked for a simple quote for a brake pads replacement mind you I’ve spent thousands with this company over the years but he started to assume I would complain about rotors so I advised him my rotors don’t need replaced just pads as they literally where just replaced according to owners manual less than 20k miles ago. He got frustrated told me “I don’t give AF what your owners manual states” like really? Go someplace else they only want to price gouge their loyal customers business must be down. Sad to see another American business lose integrity due to the times
Honest and reasonable prices! My dad was a mechanic, so whenever something is wrong with my car I get anxious and emotional because he isn't here to help. Chris and his team ease my mind! Not only are they good at what they do, but they are kind and funny too!
Update: recently I went back to Walden to have a minor problem (a "noise") looked at/fixed... and a oil change. They found the problem and corrected it quickly and inexpensively. To say that I appreciate their honesty, customer service and abilities would be an understatement! I still "approve" of this decent business. I recommend it.
I was referred to Walden Automotive by a friend of mine. He spoke very highly of them. So I called and made an appointment.
The next day I took my car in and spoke with the owner, Chris Walden.
He listened as I babbled on about what I was thinking was broke. He understood my concerns and was patient listening.
So, less than 24 hours later, I was driving away in my repaired car.
Chris and his guys were very friendly and did a great job. I had a really positive experience with them. No question.
I will bring my cars to Walden Automotive for servicing again.
Walden Automotive has worked on numerous cars for us including a 1987 Pontiac Fiero. They always do a great job at a reasonable price.

Drive in from Alabama to visit family, and needed to get my brakes replaced before going back. Dropped the car on Wednesday morning, and they promised it would be done by Sunday. I had to work Monday morning in Alabama, and I explained that to them. They didn't give a quote except, "it should be $240ish or so". On Saturday, they said they removed the calipers and we're "unable to get them back on". They ordered the part but wouldn't be in until Monday. So I was forced to call off work, and delay my trip home. They then promised to have it done first thing Monday morning, and it wasn't completed until 12 noon.
When I went to pick it up, they charged me almost $700. They never called to give me an adjusted quote, or anything. But because I HAD to get on the road back to Alabama, I didn't feel I had much of a choice other than paying the bill and leaving immediately.
I would not recommend them to anyone. I feel completely taken advantage of. I don't feel as though they handled things professionally. If they couldn't have it done on time, then they should have been upfront, and I could have gone somewhere else.
