I’m so surprised that I’ve never seen this cafe before, as I often frequent Chingford station.
Although I didn’t eat anything and it was my friend who purchased a coffee and a cake, which she loved, I have given this place a five star rating purely because of the personable service and lovely atmosphere.
My friend and I were served my two lovely women who we found out later to our surprise that they are the co-owners. I was surprised as for me, it’s unusual to be served my the owners themselves and for them to be so genuinely pleasant.
They have lots of seats here but one thing to be aware of if you don’t like dogs, is that dogs are permitted inside.
They also sell a lot of quirky chocolates that have unique flavours, which was nice.
I would definitely recommend this place and I look forward to returning and trying their food/beverages.
I had a chicken sandwich to takeaway and it was so so good. I was so impressed with the care taken and the flavours were great. Best on the high street. I'm going to make it a weekly treat. You get to pick your choice of bread and made freshly. Nice ripe avocado inside too
We thoroughly enjoy Wake up and its delightful array of cakes, which never fail to impress. It's the perfect spot to kickstart your day with a hearty breakfast, ensuring you're brimming with energy. Their portions are generous, prices reasonable, making it a go-to destination for a satisfying meal whenever the craving strikes.
Went in there with our big pup, to socialize him. The staff were absolutely amazing. The food excellent. Pupper settled down after a while but did very well in the busy and noisy environment.
I know 5 stars for every section is overkill, but honestly, if I could give more I would.
I would walk past this coffee shop to go to others. I don't know why I was hesitant about eating here, until my friend invited me to meet her here. The food was simple, well made and delicious.
I came back with my partner and tried something else, the bacon pancake stack. It induced a mouth-gasm.
We've come back numerous times and have tried various dishes, every one has been well made, and reasonably priced. If I were to say a fault on something I've recently eaten, it would be a touch more hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict.
In my opinion, it's not just the food that makes a place 5/5, it's the service too. The waiter and waitress are polite, even when I'm the one who messed up on the order. The atmosphere is lively midday and calm after the lunch time rush, the back ground music is just that, back ground. Their bathrooms are clean, and I love that it's dog friendly.
If you're in chingford and looking for simple, delicious food, Wake Cup is a must try.
I have a fondness for their tablecloths; they convey a sense of warm hospitality even from the street.
My favourite coffee shop. I visit twice a week, once with my Rock Choir buddies and once with my exercise class. The atmosphere is always relaxed and ideal for coffee and cake with friends. The staff are all absolutely lovely, and the display of cakes and parties is always very mouth-watering. Lovely beverages too.
I went in on Tuesday around 5pm and bought cakes to take away. Young men packed them nicely in a box. To my surprise when I opened them home to serve, they had mould growing on them.
Absolute disgusting, big concerns over food safety in that place
