Super busy on a Sunday morning but we got here before the church crowd poured in so the wait was minimal. My friends went with sweet waffles with lots of sugary toppings and wow, they looked amazing.
I chose something a bit closer to keto compliant, poached eggs and corned beef hash. Delicious and with a bit of Texas Pete, perfect. I greatly enjoyed my breakfast!
The definitive place to get waffles.
While ordering coffee at 7 Brew, Emily and I were hungry and needed somewhere to eat. She picked two places and I took a coin and flipped for where we would go. The Waffle Company won the flip, which was convenient as it was right next door to the coffeehouse.
Walking in, it's kind of a janky place. Pure white walls with random assortment of things hanging up on the walls. I didn't have high hopes between the janky parking lot and the odd interior but we sat down and ordered anyways.
I got the Bacon Caramel Waffle and upgraded it to a combo (I think that's what it was called) which included bacon, eggs, toast, and those little delicious potato chunks. Emily got the Mexican scramble.
Within the first bite, all my trepidation and hesitation fell away. This was perfection. The waffle was every bit bacon, caramel, and delicious from first bite to last. The sides were super delicious as well. Eggs cooked just right, potato chunks full of flavor, toast neither too toasted or almost raw. Bacon was bacon, I was on a bit of bacon overload between it and the waffle.
Emily really liked her scramble. I tried a bite and it was hot hot hot. It had an unreal kick to it that made me wonder how she put it down without breaking out in a sweat.
I think the final tab was around $30 for both our meals, which I would've paid double for how good it was. The Waffle Company is... and I don't hesitate to say this... the best breakfast I've ever had. This just goes to show that you can't trust appearances for how good a place is.

I loved The waffle Company. The food was delicious and service was excellent ????????. It was a great atmosphere and always love the small town, down home friendly people. We were greated as soon as we walked in and the customers gave us a few choices to think about. Thank you the best breakfast we have had in a long time. Mt. Vernon's you are AWESOME!!! ❤️????????
First time here & I don't know why. I regret not going sooner. We went on a Saturday afternoon. The food was delicious, great prices, good variety (breakfast foods, burgers, chicken, salads, & appetizers served all day). We were greeted as soon as we walked in; service was timely, respectful, patient and waitresses were very helpful with ordering.
We will definitely be going back.
10/10 recommend.
The service is excellent, and the food is fire ???????? *chefs kiss*. The owner was our waitress, and she was so kind and funny! The atmosphere is amiable and welcoming! If you’re in town, try it. You won't be disappointed. We will be back!
Delicious food. These waffles are perfect, and the smothered biscuits and gravy were delicious. Friendly staff, fair prices. Highly recommended. If your in Mt. Vernon please stop here, you won’t regret it.
I'm from Russia and I decided to go to this place for breakfast. This envy reminded me of the good old American movies. It is very cozy, quiet and atmospheric. I tried a bacon and egg waffle sandwich. And with syrup. Delicious! And it's very clean and friendly waiters! Thank you!)
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this restaurant already, I LOVE it here every single time I go. The waffle combo is the best deal on the menu and always comes out perfect. I've never had an order come out wrong personally
