The Trestle Trek walk starting at the Avoca trailhead walking to the train Trestle Bridge was an excellent and easy terrain for the average hiker. The trail is made of crushed stone with lots of shaded areas. The SCC PARKS AND REC maintains a well groomed hiking trail. There are vault toilets at both locations.
I usually hike from the Imlay City Rd parking area to the Bridge Trestle (about 2 miles round trip). It's a wonderful walk anytime of year.
The trail map indicates the RR tressel is a short walk (no distance indcated). The tressel was to far to walk. Several miles near Beards Hill.
This was a fair sized parking lot with free parking and ample spaces. Appreciated the presence of a public bathroom on the premises. The bathroom was clean and well cared for.
As parking lots go, this is a pretty good one. Right next to your destination and not too crowded. Also kept very clean by our county parks maintenance.
Nice little spot. Seems like it would a good weekend tourist opportunity for a family fast food and brews type joint nearby!

Perfect location for a unchallenging walk in nature. Bring bug spray tho.
