Did my daughter's hair for her wedding. Did a trial run the day before and then again on wedding morning. Also applied air sprayed make-up. I can't remember what that was called. She looked fantastic! Will post pics later when photographer has them ready. She also braided the Mother of the Groom's hair and curled my hair (Mother of the Bride). Very skilled coamotologist and hair artist! We fell in love with her greeter at the door too!
I was having a hair emergency after leaving all my hot tools at home, plus the rain was not helping.
Couldn’t find a curling iron to save my life so we were hopeful when we found this place. Salon looked open but door was locked. Time was within normal business hours listed on Google. Tried calling no answer, tried again later that afternoon.
Tried calling one last time prior to event as a last ditch effort. Nothing.
As a former salon owner, it seems they don’t really need to make money or want to service the public.
Really could’ve made a difference in our experience.
I went yesterday to get a haircut and this lady with short platinum hair in her mid 50's (she's short and kinda chubby, no offense I just never asked her name) cut my hair, she took literally 10 min to do so, she left my neck al itchy with the razor she used.
She's probably good with wedding hairstyling, idk, but surely she's NOT GOOD DOING MEN HAIRCUT.
GUYS STAY AWAY, go to the mainland or find another place.
Shannon did my hair for my wedding 1 week ago and she did an amazing job! She made the whole experience completely stress free. My hair is extremely thin so I was very worried about my curls falling out beforehand (this happens often). She recommended making my curls extremely tight before hand and had just the products and it worked great! My hair was exactly how I wanted it for the ceremony and held all night. It was even curly still when I woke up! Not to mention she made my hair exactly like the pictures I showed her. We had great conversation. She also did everything in a timely manner so I was not rushed after. Thanks again! I would highly recommend this place!
Probably a nice place? I wouldn't know since the lone woman in the place told us, from the far back as she worked on a client, that she was booked through September. It's August now. This maybe an owner-operator sort of small place. It wouldn't surprise me if she lived above the salon. Maybe she does a great job - maybe she just owns the only salon on the island. I'll never know which is keeping her in business!
The owner herself did my hair and makeup for my wedding - and did such an incredibly beautiful job! We did a trial run the day before and she played around with makeup colors, hair details, everything - she wanted to make sure I was happy with every little detail! My hair felt like silk after the blowout the day before. I would highly, highly recommend her to anyone seeking bridal hair and makeup on Mackinac Island - her artistry, charisma, and pure hair-styling talent will blow you away!
I used Vintage Glam Salon a few weeks ago for my wedding and wedding party, and Christy did a wonderful job! The hair and makeup were superb, and it was such a fun morning getting ready with the ladies. Everything lasted all day long and I felt like I had never looked better. Thank you Christy for such a great experience!
Christy colored and cut my hair, it's genuinely the best it has ever looked in. My. Life. So happy with everything she does, and she set me up with products that are huge game changers! She uses the best, and IS the best! Plus, she's super sweet and honest, really listens to what you want and works her magic to make it happen!
She's also done my boyfriend's hair several times over the summer, and he and I have both been very happy with that as well.
