Very rude, and racist. Before I could even step foot in to the shop, I was stopped at the door, saying that they were not taking any more people for the day, appointments only. So my Caucasian friend, who was with me and have not got out of the car yet, walked in the shop and asked if she could get a pedicure. They politely asked her to sign her name and have a seat. Sad that we still living in these days. We went to three shops in the same area within a 2 mile radius in the same thing happened. This is very sickening.
Really and truly this establishment is not worth the one star review! Village nails and spa employees y’all need to learn some lessons in customer service, it’s bad enough most nail places talk about their customers in their language and let alone turn customers around because of the color of their skin.. But anyway so my husband and I went on a getaway to celebrate our anniversary so we decided to splurge and get pedicures together and choose this place because we was already in the area.I guess they have a racist radar go off, because as soon as my husband and I step one foot in the door the lady basically said we wasn’t welcome there. The establishment was not busy at all at the time so we left and seen a white woman go in with no problem. We quickly called grand nails and spa and they welcomed us with open arms!
I have a standing manicure appointment every month. Everyone here treats you like family! I use Christine. She does wonderful work!
My Sister-in-law and I were very pleased with the timeliness of having our pedicure appointments!! The staff was very professional and worked diligently to do quality work. My feet are soft to the touch and not leathery and rough to the touch like when I arrived for my appointment!! Amy then did a regular manicure and my nails are pretty and shiny again. I hope to return monthly and have soft, happy feet and hands!! I was amazed how pretty my eyebrows looked after Tam waxed them for me. She is quite an artist!! I highly recommend Mimi's excellent staff!!! Village Nails is a great value for the time and money I spend there. I will continue with their care!!
This is how you should feel walking out of a nail salon. Stephen was my nail tech on this set and he always delivers. Paula is also amazing!
This is the second time I have been to this salon. The first time I went in with a gift certificate which included a large tip. I was in work clothes and admittedly looked shaggy. I was refused service saying they were full but there were no customers in the salon at the time. I waited outside for about 20 minutes after leaving and no customers arrived in this time.
Today I took my granddaughter to get a set of nails. We specifically asked for tips, cut short and dipping powder. I waited outside in the vehicle with my mother and grandson. When my granddaughter came out there were no tips. Only the dipping powder. I know for a fact that we asked for tips, the receptionist said we wanted tips… I was still expected to pay the full amount.
So sad that business is done this way.
The owner provides excellent service from the best pedicure to offering a drink. And the ambience makes you feel beautiful and relaxed.
In the area visiting my mother-in-law who has memory loss. She missed her appointment so I went in with her as she tried to apologize to Mimi and reschedule for another appointment time. Mimi scolded her and said loudly enough for the entire establishment to hear that she was not available before 6pm the following day. While I explained that my mother-in-law has memory loss Mimi retorted that "she does it all the time." (Well, no, not all the time but please re-read the part about her having memory loss.) Mimi said "she needs to give a cell phone number, we call to remind." (Cell phone reminders will not work if she forgets to turn her cell phone on. That's why you have her land line number on file, although she got no reminder call to that number.) Mother-in-law attempted to pay Mimi for her missed appointment and the inconvenience to her, although Mimi refused to accept that. She was just plain rude to a customer and so loudly condescending she made a forgetful senior citizen feel absolutely horrible and reduced her to tears. Clearly Mimi has never had anyone she loves struggle with memory loss, although with such a large senior population in this area I'm sure that my mother-in-law is neither the first forgetful person she's encountered, nor will she be the last. I hope that she takes this to heart to treat the next forgetful seniors with some compassion because there will be no other chances for her to denigrate one of the kindest, most thoughtful women I have ever known, who struggles greatly with something that is not in her power to control and in no way deserves the treatment I witnessed.
