I have driven by numerous times, but my uncle came into town and suggested this place. Thought why not. Had no idea it was a place with breakfast all day and lunch. The menu has many options. Took me a minute to look at everything. We chose tuna melts and a roast beef sandwich ????. Nice Atmosphere. A good number of people came in and out. Clean and Atmosphere was diner like. The food was good. I'd come again
After stopping at Sift Cafe, and cafeSol, we couldn’t get seating, so we stopped in Village Cafe, it was a wonderful surprise! My father had recommended this restaurant multiple times but this was my first time! It’s obviously a family owned and run restaurant because the young lady behind the counter was so accommodating and friendly. The food was wonderful and tasty!! Next time I’m in Connecticut it will be a must stop!
For me the Village Cafe is the premier breakfast cafe in the area. I eat breakfast there 2 to 3 times a week. The front counter is dutifully manned by Rita who knows everyone by their first names and greets you upon coming in. The food is prepared by Nick, back in the kitchen, who pays attention to every detail to make sure your breakfast comes out perfect. For a breakfast sandwich that means your hard roll is buttered and grilled in the inside, your bacon is cut to sandwich size and crispy, and your egg and cheese are melted together when it is served. If you want something prepared differently due to personal preferences or dietary restrictions then just tell Rita and she will make it happen, no problem. The coffee is always hot and delicious. The cafe is usually open by 7:15 am. So stop in and give it a try if you haven’t tried the place. It’s a great way to start the day.
What can I say? The chicken pesto sandwich and fries are out of this world. I didn’t expect much. I was in the area and hungry but let me tell you, I was absolutely blown away before even receiving my food. First the atmosphere is very inviting, then the customer service experience was top notch, and finally the food…..AMAZING!! I would definitely recommend the village cafe to all of my family and friends!
Stopped by for a quick bite to eat and the breakfast sandwich I had was delicious!! The food came out fast and hot. You can taste how fresh the bagel was. I’d definitely go back again!
The Village is one delicious breakfast sandwich!! I had mine with bacon, how yum! Cooked to perfection. You can get sausage too. The Village Cafe is that place where I walk in, feel at home, and always leave much better!
There are places that try to be hip, try to have themes, try to be novel. Village Cafe does none of that. They simply make the perfect, straight forward version of what you want. Ever eat hash browns and wish that you only ever get hash browns like that everywhere else you ever go again? Service is great. They make sure you are getting what you want and make you feel wanted and at home. The atmosphere is simply this: you are visiting a neighborhood.
I stopped in around 12:30 after reading a few reviews and got the Village Egg Sandwich and a Raspberry Hibiscus iced tea to go and I’m so glad I did. Everything was absolutely delicious and the sandwich was big enough for 2 adults! It’s basically a plated breakfast but in a sandwich with 2 eggs, 4 strips of bacon, cheese and home fries on a fresh hard roll! The iced tea was naturally bright red with a light raspberry taste and delicious undertones of hibiscus. I can’t wait to travel back that way to try something else and get another tea! The 2 women at the counter were so pleasant that I’d feel comfortable going back and eating in by myself next time. Thank you for a great brunch from this out-of-towner!
