Best KPortal Reviews

Came here craving mozzarella sticks around 8pm on a weekday night. The fried cheese was delicious. The marinara sauce had good flavor. The cheese had a slight chew to it which was good. Bowl of vegetable soup was $4. Chocolate cake was really good especially with the chocolate drizzle for $5. Overall, a great value small 3 course meal for $19! Service was great and my waitress checked on me frequently.
This place is very narrow( old building) which makes it not extremely baby friendly.
They have pretty affordable prices which contributes to the quality of ingredients they are using.
The water tasted like tap water and made me sick. The rice was totally overcooked( did not even taste good), my hash browns were fried in some cheap oil( prob soy, corn or sunflower).
I didn’t feel extremely happy about eating their food even though it looks good on the picture .
If you are very health-conscious person, then you’re not gonna like the quality of food, they serve there .
Not fancy food, but good food. We enjoyed the vibe on a Sunday afternoon in November.
Warm, filling and flavorful. My husband was a very happy man after each course including delicious apple pie a la mode.
Service was friendly and attentive.
It was a great and welcoming experience. It was very busy during our time there, but the server was very attentive. The price was fair and the food was delicious.
Choice, eclectic college vibe. Big menu with something for everyone. Nice, caring staff. Love the regulars at the counter.
We ordered too much food but it was fun to try a few things. Nachos with steak, ham and cheese croissant with onion rings, fries covered in cheese and a chocolate peanut butter milkshake. Nachos were great, if you don’t like a lot of sour cream get it on the side. Ham and cheese was full of flavor and loaded with cheese (wish I asked for mayo on it), onion rings - delicious especially dipped in their ranch. The loaded fries were great, especially like that they toasted the cheese on top of the fries (it’s a big plate). Lastly the milkshake; big thick milkshake - well worth it.
The menu is huge and we’ll definitely go back for other items.
This is certainly a very popular place, but the food was pretty mediocre, by and large. Generous portion sizes, and prompt, helpful service, but (and I came with a reasonably large group, so there were lots of dishes tried) despite coming hungry for a late lunch, no one was particularly enthusiastic about their food.
Among our group, we ordered: a calzone, a salad, the blt, the taco salad, a burrito, a chicken sandwich, French toast, cream chipped beef, chopped steak (my order), and a triple stack of chocolate chip pancakes for my kids. We had sides of fried potatoes, mashed potatoes, fries, and broccoli. The fries were good, and I enjoyed my mashed potatoes. The broccoli was steamed, but not mushy and was green and fresh looking, standard.
And that's about how most people felt - the food was okay. It wasn't bad enough to complain about, but not good enough to come back for. Everyone asked me if my "chopped steak" order was a meatloaf. I may have just misunderstood what I was ordering, but what came out was definitely something like a Salisbury steak, like a minced steak patty. It was ok. Not the worst I'd had, but definitely not something I'd get again. My kids each had one pancake and called it quits. This is lunch at 2pm when they normally eat at noon, having not had much to eat before this. Certainly not the most glowing review of the food.
It's mostly small booth seating (for 4 adults, max), with a corner in the back that we (11 adults, 2 kids in laps) squeezed into. They were quite accomodating, and we had women who were willing to sit close to each other, but I would not really recommend it for large groups. They did have two other areas that were not open for dining when we were here that may accomodate a group, but I would call ahead. They do have a complete party seating policy, just to be aware.
This seems like a local hangout spot, and it has character. Would I go out of my way to eat here? No. But if you're a student or resident in the area wanting American food near campus, this is an option.
Visiting Richmond for the day so we stopped by for food here first, and it was awesome! I had a super specific craving for a cheesy hot dog baked potato and the server was happy to make it happen, and it was SO good! I really appreciate the flexibility, it was delicious!
