New York/NJ-style pizza DONE RIGHT, NO CUT CORNERS. Quality ingredients and baked correctly. You will LOVE this pizza if NY-style is what you crave.
Rarely do I give 5-star ratings in Western PA for food, but because so few places in the region make NY-style pizza the way it should be, this place deserves high praise.
The people baking pizza at Villa Grande should be hired as consultants for 35 or more other independent pizza shops across the region: “How to do it right.” The rest can make their bread pizza with sad sauce.
Extremely disappointed with our experience. I ordered one of the specialty pizzas for takeout. I walked in and informed the girl at the front desk that I was there to pick up my order. She acted as though I was inconveniencing her in some way. Putting that aside, I was hoping the pizza would at least taste good. Unfortunately, the pizza was absolutely awful. The crust was hard and almost burnt in some areas while some of the center pieces were slightly doughy. The toppings were heavy on the vegetables and light on the meat. I guess saving a couple bucks is more important than providing a stellar experience and product. I'll never return and I don't recommend.
DELICIOUS! We had chicken Parmesan and chicken Romano along with a fried zucchini appetizer. We could not stop eating! The food is fresh, perfectly seasoned, and the portions are generous. Villa Grande is our new favorite restaurant! FYI: they do not sell alcohol, but you can bring your own wine!
This is usually a great place to eat but today we sat for 5 minutes before our waitress said hello and only after I asked the hostess who are waitress was. She brought drinks then another 15 minutes for salad while we watched our waitress talk to another customer who came in after us. She went and got their salads and continued to talked. We only got ours after we stopped her and asked for them. Salads were very watery. At that point I think she realized she had never put our order in so, 50 minutes into our visit, we’re waiting for food. The men she was talking to just got their food.
Food came out and was very good, I wish they had Italian bread instead of pizza dough rolls but I do like their sauce.
Favorite restaurant in Butler. First time going got manicotti and it was really good. Not a huge portion but not a huge price, so the side of meatballs and a couple rolls to fill out the meal was just right. Rolls were so good I had to assume they can make a good pizza dough. Wasn't disappointed, easily the best pizza in town. In person the crust holds up better than ordered but still delicious none the less. After trying every pizza place in butler I can say Villa Grande is the only place I will be ordering from now on. Same with pasta, but there's not a lot of great pasta places so that almost goes without saying. Check it out!
This family has a few restaurants in the region. I have been eating their food for 40+ years. If it wasn't really good food, I wouldn't still be eating it! Anything I have ever tried is excellent. My favorite is the stromboli. My family all agrees that their Sicilian style pizza is the absolute best. Its not easy to find a thick crust pizza, but I don't think you will find one as good as this. The outside of the crust is nice and crunchy while the inside is soft. The bottom crust has the perfect amount of waviness to it. The hoagies are baked just right. I don't think you will be disappointed.
First time going to it. Finally someone around here got a Sicilian right! Even though he was wearing a Yankees hat. Go BoSox! Great atmosphere. I look forward to trying the many entrees there. Especially the mussels and veal and calamari.
Ordered 5 dinners for take out to eat at home (1 hour away). We ordered 3 orders of chicken parmigiana, eggplant rollitini, and manicotti. Some orders had a side salad with Italian dressing (homemade) and Italian wedding soup. Each order came with a side of spaghetti and bread.
The order was packaged well and everything came just as ordered. Even though we weren’t able to eat the food as soon as it was made, we all still really enjoyed our meals. I felt the portions were appropriate for an adult, the amount of sauce was a good ratio to the entree/spaghetti, and the flavors were good.
We had no complaints and were pleased with our first meal from this restaurant. We will be sure to eat here again in the future and try other menu items. Our younger children enjoyed their meals as well and didn’t have any trouble eating their portions. The spaghetti sauce was great, a little on the thicker side and had a tad bit of sweetness, but all for the better. The Italian dressing was full of herbs and fresh tasting. The chicken parmigiana was thin, moist, and filling. The Italian wedding soup was really delightful. It has bits of chicken in it and meatballs and was overall great!
I highly recommend trying this restaurant out.
