The food is comforting, love the house tortillas! When the food is good it keeps you coming back! I ordered the molcajete this time, if you never tried it this is a sign to order one . The hot stone dish is very satisfying and filling! It came with a small side of rice, fried beans, guac, and salad. Our server did not take note of our requests when we first set our order. Not the best service attitude but we did point it out and it was fixed. It seemed like an instance of when you order something specific, are ignored, and brought out whatever. It was pretty crowded inside at lunch time and our meal didn’t take too long coming out which was nice.
Yummy Mexican food. Fresh tortillas made. Servers are very cordial. We ordered machaca and menudo. They also accommodated my daughter's dish. Homey atmosphere.
Muy rica comida mexicana y excelente servicio. Came on a Sunday morning for breakfast and was very pleased with the food, service, and experience overall. We ordered the chilaquiles rojos with asada plate and kid’s eggs and ham plate. They also have aguas frescas (I recommend horchata). Our total came to about $28, which was a great deal. We will come back for sure.
Villa Cariño is our go to Mexican Restaurant. The food is always so flavorful. The staff is so friendly and attentive. You have to try the Molcajete. They have 3 different styles. Cielo, Mar, y tierra. With Steak, Chicken and shrimp. or just Chicken, or Steak, your choice. They are all delicious. I highly recommend it.
Best Garlic Shrimp ever! First time visit did not disappoint. Fresh Salsa Verde is really good! This place is tucked in a small complex where parking is designated so good luck getting parking close to the restaurant.
If you're in the LA Puente area in San Gabriel Valley, you should definitely stop by and try Villa Cariño Mexican restaurant. The Huitlacoche quesadilla was a great starter plate, and the follow on Mole plate was great too, except for the fact the chicken was a tiny bit undercooked. I had to return my plate because the chicken meat near the bone was undercooked. However, the server immediately took it back and replaced it with a new one. Price here is also reasonable, around $25/person for the good plates, including drinks. Overall a good restaurant to return to.
One of favorite Mexican restaurants! Great food & service. Best chips & salsa(very spicy w/roasted green chile pieces. You'd be happy if this was all you ate! Excellent "7 Mares" soup($15.99) with big, juicy shrimp, mussels, fish, crab and veggies. My friend got the beef taquitos lunch special($7.99) with 3 crunchy taquitos, rice & beans and guacamole. Delicious! So many great dishes here that it's hard to decide what to order so come back often!
