The online price was $55. Called the hotel, and said I was stopping in. Was charged $90/night. Asked the guy at the front desk why. He states you get a discount to book online!!! Hotels in GI are cheaper and have a pool. Rooms were clean. Beds were very firm. Location is quiet. Breakfast was minimal cereal and waffle. Dude also stated that Breakfast was 6-10, but it was put away at 9. Old and dated. People living in the hotel. Hallways smelled of food. Was planning g on staying 4 nights, but only stayed 2.
A nice inexpensive place to spend two nights. We were in town for a wedding, and this motel was a great place to stay. It appears to have been a Super 8 in the past, and the current owner is making a real effort to upgrade. The gentleman behind the desk in the evening was very helpful and friendly. We arrived during a tornado warning, and he rushed to direct us to the first floor main hallway to keep us safe. A curtain in our room needed some help, but overall everything was functional, clean and handy. New carpet, new microwave, new fridge, and a wonderful king size mattress. Who could ask for more? The breakfast was typical......biscuits and gravy, cereal, toast, waffles, fresh fruit, sweet rolls, juice, milk and great coffee. Upon checking out, we were asked if there was anything that we felt needed attention. In all our travels and motel stays, I think this is the first time I've ever been asked that question.
Was rented a room on 7/29/23 (for 2 adults and 2 toddlers), in my Mom's name, that was rented to us illegally. Have filed complaints. No smoke detector in room (just a hole in the ceiling with wires hanging out) and no fire exit map. Advised from desk we would not be staying and to refund us. Was offered another room but we declined and drove the 3 hours home as we had a bad experience this time last year as well.
This time last year we also stayed a night there and gave them the benefit of the doubt but the smoke detector in that room was hanging from the ceiling and was then taped back up by the front desk guy. The phone, TV and refrigerator also did not work in that room.
Also not transparent about their "deposit policy" for incidentals. Was not told on the phone about this when the reservation was made, was brought to our attention at check in. A $100 deposit for a room is ridiculous when room rates are high as it is. Having a card on file for incidentals is very common, however, to charge up front for it is not right. I will be looking into that as well.
We got a very clean, nice smelling room. The man who checked us in was so nice and helpful as was the woman who checked us out. The Downside was you have to put up an extra hundred dollars, which you get back in the morning if you follow the common sense rules, such as no smoking, etc..
If i could give a negative stars for this place. I would for sure.. First of all my husband walked in was told rudely by the front desk gentleman that he had no rooms or room that we could get a rollaway or a pull out couch. There was no cars in the lot... I then spoke up and ask him the room that you do have does it have a couch that can pull out. He said yeah. Go from nothing to o yeah. Didnt give us the price. We had no choice but to stay here. It was late and kids were ready for bed. Gave us the total after running the card and everything of $175 w/ taxes. O my lord on the price. We paid and got to room.. Look newly remodel, but least finish.. Caulking is not made to round corners. Mud for the walls was not sanded down or painted. Room smelt very musty. Breakfast there was nothing when we left out around 8am the next day. For the price and all it should of have been better overall experience.
My engine blew outside of Central City and things where not looking good. The staff at Victorian Inn were great during my two night stay From having the car towed in then allowing time as I struggled to load it up on a uhaul. Room was Clean Quiet and comfortable. Plan ahead for dinner if you stay, not much available after 8pm.
Stayed here, and the hallways all smell bad. Room cleaning is poor, and when the toilet broke the girl sent to fix it ridely told my brother that he could fix it if it still didn't flush. The house keepers also just walk into your room with no warning.
The staff is kind. The bed and bedding are great. The room is clean. My room had a sofa, desk, and bed. The family that runs the hotel works hard and does a good job. The price is reasonable. It's not the Waldorf Astoria, but it's in Central City, not Midtown Manhattan.
