I ordered the ultimate feast. Paid extra for chicken Alfredo instead of spaghetti, the chicken Alfredo tasted like a frozen Alfredo. The sauce was gritty and lacked flavor or seasonings. My gondola sub I paid for double meat. They did not put double meat on it. Salad tub was half empty when I got the food. The cashier was clueless about the menu. She was not helpful at all. Can honestly say I will never eat Via Sofia food again.
Completely ruined our evening. Decided to give a local restaurant a chance. Yes we did use a delivery service, they did nothing wrong on their end. The restaurant on the other hand, never answered the phone when we called to get corrections straight on our botched order. Ended up calling the other franchise, lady was very nice on her end. Gave the original one more call before closing and she was rude and pretty much told us to **** off. No meatballs in spaghetti (paid extra and wanted marinara not meat) . Wanted Alfredo not meat sauce on tortellini. Both came smothered in red sauce that was so burnt we didn't even try to hold our nose to eat. Added the cutlery to our order. Thank goodness my hotel had some in lobby or else I'd have to eat with my hands...Complete disaster. But the rude girl wanting to not answer the phone before they close is what put the icing on the cake. Pandemic or not, customer service is what keeps these local businesses alive. We Will NEVER give this place another opportunity to be supported.
This may date me but I remember this location as the OG Zio Johno's and while the interior is immensely more modern & they have a new name, the food has not changed much. They are most well known for their Gondola Subs (which are 16" & only $5 on Mondays! & pictured) made on their yummy Sweet Bread and their Family Meal Deals, usually 1 Gallon of Spaghetti, 1 Gallon of Spaghetti Sauce and a loaf of Garlic Bread. I've ordered many other things in the past and can also recommend their Ranch Dressing if you get a salad and Ice Cream. This location has suffered from the pandemic so there probably won't be many customers dining in and you may have to wait for someone to pop up to the counter. But that means you may have the restaurant to yourselves and the Gondolas are premade and ready to go on Mondays...you really can't beat them for only $5.
The meat sauce tastes bitter, like it cooked too long or too high of heat and the sugars in the sauce burned. Even better, at the bottom of our family bucket was hair. Dark hair. The salad was old, wilting and browning. The best part is the bread, it has a nice flavor and texture. They didn't include any parmesan or croutons or anything. They left my dessert off pickup order. Overall, would not order again.
Great place. Nice clean inside. The wife and I stopped in for a late lunch on the way home from a conference. Got the Chicken Alfredo dinner and it was plenty of food to share between the two of us!!! We share a lot of meals, but salad, bread sticks and a FULL plate of pasta. Very nice meal.
I'm very confused by this place. The crust for the pizza was great, the cheese was great, the sauce was good, but the toppings are just frozen toppings. I could be wrong but it appears they make the dough here at least, why not the meats? Also the cheese bread was OVERWHELMINGLY disappointing. Was was seemingly chibota bread with butter and garlic seasoning put on top with a slice of mozzarella cheese placed on top then baked. All this effort gets put in the dough it seems but everything else is very poorly applied after that. Like I said I'm very confused by this place.
I have taken visiting family and friends here a lot as it's located close to where I live. I always receive mixed reactions -- the pizza and calzones reliably receive good reviews, and so does the ice cream, but a lot of the other items just aren't as well-liked. They don't really look like they're the same quality either. The non-ice-cream dessert items taste good, but they're all in plastic packaging whether you order in or to-go, and the tiramisu was a little soggy. Oh well.
The restaurant itself is cute and usually quite clean, the employees are friendly, and the store offers a discount for local college students. It's not overly pricey to dine here. Overall, the menu/recipes could use a little adjustment, but it's still a solid restaurant.
This place was great to eat at. The pizza was damn good delicious. You got to try this place out. It's so good me and my family got full
