Best KPortal Reviews
I want to start out by saying that I am not a fan of bad reviews unless they are truly warranted. Sometimes your experience can be a product of a bad/off day for the person or the restaurant however, sometimes it is just bad and therefor necessary so the business understands and can adjust if they wish. With that being said, this was one of the worst dining experiences we have had in some time when describing the food. Aside from the service, which was good, I had a tough time processing how someone (owner/cooks/servers) could allow food like this to be served. The lasagna tasted manufactured (probably Cisco), the Cesar Salad tasted a hint like blue cheese (moldy) and the butter noodles were either old and stale or they were undercooked significantly (either is unacceptable). Aside from those issues which made it already a 5/10 this review will focus on our pizza. I truly cannot believe this was served (see pic below). The sauce was lite pink from what looked to be basically watered-down crushed tomatoes and as I picked up a piece the toppings fell right off, including the cheese. The crust was beyond floppy (see pic below) and extremely soggy from what I believe is the watered-down tomato water/sauce. The cheese tasted old and all around this was the worst pizza I have had in recent memory. I was appalled and we did not even eat it aside from the one piece my daughter had before giving a literal thumbs down. Again, I say this so the owner/cooks/servers who read this can maybe take another look at the recipe process and get things headed in a better direction. With this hope, I personally cannot find it in myself to return since there are other options and won't risk having this bad of a meal for $25-$35 a person. Good luck Via Marina and hope you can get it turned around.
Excellent wood fired pizza with interesting flavor combinations on the menu. Nutella Calzone for dessert is very tasty and easily serves 3-4. It can be a bit on the messy side (in a good way). Seating both indoors and heated outdoors.
The gorgonzola salad was pretty tasty and the chicken Marsala is probably what I'd get next time.
It does take some time to get food, so save it for a night when you don't mind hanging out. We go here for family dinners and birthdays pretty regularly. They have a large patio which is nice in the summer.
The atmosphere is a bit dressed down. Feel free to wear your jeans. Although it would be fine for a date night also.
You can bring kids here. Parking is limited, but I've always been able to find a space. It's a bit tight for accessibility inside.
Foods were good. I order bowl of minestrone soup. Appetizer was pizza bread. It was yummy. We dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I got some if fectttucine Alfredo and pizza from my friends’ orders. The pasta noodle cook perfect and Alfredo sauce was good. It was not salty. Pizza was full of pepperoni and ham. Foods were not salty. The service was good.
(update 2/20/2024) This place just keeps getting better every time we go here. We don't live very close to this restaurant, so it's a treat when we drive an hour to go there. we enjoyed Antipasto misto it was great with Olives, prosciutto, cheese, and mushrooms. it was so delicious.
Pear and gorgonzol salad the sweet pear with the salty cheese and the Candied walnuts over the greens.
I had to have my favorite Prawns Positano. my husband had the frutti di mare he enjoyed trying something new
we had to take home some dessert and we were so happy that we did because it was so amazing, Cream al limone. I wish we had gotten 2 of them now and plan to go back just to get the dessert and some other things as well.
It's some of the best Italian food I've had. the prawns Positano had a creamy tomato sauce with just the perfect amont of spice. my family loved their food, too.
The restaurant had cozy vibes and the staff were attentive and great! The bread they brought out as an appetizer was super fresh and served warm. We tried the Enzo Pizza and Rigatoni Sausage and Rapini. They were delicious! Their sausage is amazing and it tastes like it might be home made.
Quick & friendly service!
Meat Balls & Marinara appi is on point.
No kids menu but they loved their clam pasta, cacio e pepe & spaghetti Alla puttanesca. Noodles are perfectly cooked.
Sorrento pizza is delicious.
Outdoor seating.
Found this gem of a restaurant on our last day of vacation and was totally worth the trip! The ambiance was on point with the decorations and music. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious! Salads, drinks and entrees were so flavorful. Our server was in great spirits and very knowledgeable. Via Marina deserves some recognition.
