I was looking for a nail shop that was open on Sunday’s I googled and found these ppl!! When I tell you I’m so happy I found them they were so calm patient and caring they made me feel so welcome and did my nails and pedicure perfect I only told them once what I wanted ???? I’ll be back and I highly recommend them everyone was nice oh and my color is funny bunny ????
New in town, and needed a fill ,badly,Quarg looked at them and said no they popped off way to easily, so he popped rest off so fast, as I always wear French tips, they are beautiful done, where every one uses the white nail and uses pink on top,this is way supposed to look like, Thank You Quarg for a beautiful well done job,if you want the best come here,they do amazing work,fast and done right
I would sadly not recommend. I debated on writing this review but hopefully it will help others. Paid to get nails taken off and they filed my actual nail to the skin so there is a large invention in the middle. The place was also not very clean.

During the pandemic it was so hard to find a good Nail Salon but I stumbled into their business. I was tired just being other’s assembly line client. Not only a personal touch but friendly people who can carry on a conversation with you and call you by name every time you return! It doesn’t matter who waits on you all are equal in professionalism and genuinely nice!
This location is convenient for me so I come here for that. But never again. The guy who i seem to always get RUSHES me EVERYTIME!! He finished my nails and immediately turned the nail light off while i was looking at my nails . The salon is supposed to be where we come to relax. Not here. The time before that i got a Mani and Pedi and was RUSHED that time, the girl who did my Pedi scratched all my heels up trying to get rid of me.
I only get my nails done a few times a year, but I've tried a number of different nail salons in town since I moved here. No terrible experiences, but none that really stood out. Until today! I will definitely be coming back to Vela! Close to home and I'm pretty pleased with their work. I will definitely be back!
I was looking for a new place to try that was closer to my house and picked Vela based off online reviews and location. I went in for the dip powder on my nails and needed a tip put on one because it broke off pretty short last weekend. They did a fantastic job! Last time I had to get a tip put on (I'm rough on my nails) at a different salon, they just glued it on and painted over it. It was awkward and lumpy looking. I guess I didn't know any better, that was the first time I had ever had that done for me, I always just have my natural nails. But today, the lady that did my nails at Vela took her time and made sure the acrylic tip was filed down so it doesn't look lumpy. You can't tell it's there, blends right into my own nail. It also seemed like there were several regular customers in there which I think is another good sign. The people that work there all seem very nice and the prices were good/average for Baton Rouge, I think. I would definitely recommend giving them a try!
I love this place. I moved to the city from another state almost a year ago and I’ve gone through quite a few nail shops here . I wear my natural nails and I like to keep them strong and healthy. I use dip powder and I have not had one issue with my nails or polish since coming to this shop. I love how neat and organized the shop is. It’s rarely super busy so I can get in and out with no issue. The prices are reasonable and the quality of the services is high.
