I've lived in dover for all my life always remember coming here and enjoying there cakes.
Until I made a order for some pink and blue butter icing baby shower cakes, and unfortunately they where completely wrong and looked like my children had made them.
They have been over cooked and have white butter icing with sprinkles on them!!
Thanks to Jeff and his superb service, our event went off with style. Great cakes and prompt delivery all as described and promised. There was nothing left after 260 cakes delivered over the 2.5 days. That speaks volumes. A great place to do business with!
I’ve had baked goods from Vanes since I was child. As an adult, it’s still mine and my sisters favourite bakery!
Customer service is always good, and the prices and food are as well. My personal favourites are the blobby biscuits.
We recently moved to Dover environs and are unaccustomed to living near a high quality independent baker. We ordered a Victoria sponge cake (Victoria Sandwich) today for our son’s birthday and it truly was gastronomic heaven. You simply can’t get this much freshness and love anywhere else. Kudos to the craftsmanship at Vane’s.
Amazing service. Due to the lock down I made an order over the phone which was delivered that morning. Lots of choice from tasty cakes to a selection of bread and rolls. Family favourites are Blobby biscuits and cornish pasties a real treat to cheer everyone up. Items are well wrapped and packaged well. Delivered by very lovely delivery drivers.
The bread is reasonable however I have had better. The cakes were disappointing due to the exceptionally high level of sugar in the chocolate topping and synthetic iced cream within. The doughnuts were fine and about the only thing I could stomach other than the bread and french stick. Such a pity as I expected more from a local bakery. I won't be returning.
Wonderful family bakery, needs all the local support to keep this amazing baker going. I have been buying cakes and bread here since I was a kid, so much better than any chain store.
Very rude lady called jan who served me this morning, had a attitude because she was running late for work! and the way she spoke to her co worker was a lot to be desired shame as the rolls were nice. Jan take a happy pill luv x
