How can you go wrong with a Van Pig and curly-Q fries with great company? Food was fantastic, friendly service, and everything was nice and clean! Have you tried their relish?? Wowzer!! Give Van's Pig Stand a try today, and become another life long customer!
Great BBQ find in Shawnee, OK. For $9.25 I got the Pig Sandwich which came with a side and drink. They had several choices for BBQ sauces, I went with the peach habenero sauce which was just the right amount of sweet and heat at the same time. I highly recommend checking this place out.
Update: Visted again today 3/16/24 and once again the chopped brisket sandwich was excellent, especially paired with their peach habanero bbq sauce!! I even purchased a bottle to take home! I have a couple of friends that would like to purchase it if you’re able to ship the peach habanero sauce that’d be awesome!
I want to like this place, and I thought it was better in the past, but the ribs I have gotten here for the past year or more has been poorly seasoned, with a muddy smoke taste and an unpleasant texture. The beef brisket has been similarly under seasoned and dry. The pig sandwich continues to be good, but pork butt is a very forgiving meat. I can't recommend anymore.
The oldest Van's in Shawnee. Service at the counter was excellent and the food came fast. I got ribs and sliced brisket. The bark on the ribs was excellent and the brisket was juicy without being fatty. Tried every sauce and they're all good. Will be back.
So good...just so good. You should really not expect a fast food experience, even though they try to get it out fast. This BBQ you can smell from way down the street. The sauces are great. This location's atmosphere is spot on. Go on, treat yourself to good BBQ.
(Updated 4/12/2024) If you are going through the drive thru, be prepared for a wait; this isn't exactly a fast food restaurant. It does no good to honk.
Bogo on a pig sandwich, how can you not like that. Hard not to enjoy the old van's. My mom went there in 46 while in high school. Wish the charcoal room was open. Recently remodeled.
food was dry (chicken and brisket) and no flavor but people were nice. beans were great mac and cheese was okay not very cheesy
Ate here when we were in Oklahoma for Christmas. Not one bad thing was to be had. We had close to 20 people in our party and in between everyone we had most everything off the menu. Had to make sure to get some of the Peach Habanero BBQ to take home with us.
